Kashif Pasta, a Director, Writer, and Producer, was born in Canada. He studied at Roots and Wings Montessori from 1995-2002, Tamanawis Secondary from 2004-09, and did his Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Simon Fraser University from 2009-13. Kashif was the Founder of Mkpmedia, which specialized in cross-media storytelling, events, podcasts, blogs, and film production, distribution, and promotion from October 2005 to February 2011. He was a Facilitator for the summer 2011 program and a member of the Board of Directors at The Surrey Urban Youth Project from August 2007-11.

Kashif was the Co-Founder of Montage- The Surrey Media Arts Festival from October 2006 to June 2012. He was the Writer and Presenter at Deep Rogue Ram from August to September 2012. Kashif was the Production Assistant at Metro Vancouver (formally GVRD) from September 2012 to July 2013. He worked as a Writer at the National Film Board of Canada from September to December 2013. Kashif was an Editor from May 2012 to 14 and a Digital Director from May to September 2014 at Point Blank Creative in Vancouver, Canada. He was a VFX Production Coordinator at MPC from September 2014 to October 2015. He has been the Principal Owner of Dunya Media in Vancouver and Los Angeles since January 2016.

He was honoured with a Scholarship for Excellence in Film and Video by Surrey School District and by the BC Ministry of Education in June 2009. He received the Dean's Honour Roll from Simon Fraser University- Faculty of Communications, Art, and Technology in May 2013. He also won the Audience Choice Award for Welcome to Surrey (2016) issued by the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival in November 2017. He was a Best Director nominee at FirstGlance Film Festival Los Angeles in February 2018.

He won the People's Choice Award for the short film Desi Standard Time Travel (2022) at the Mosquers Film Festival 2022 and Tasveer South Asian Film Festival. The short movie Desi Standard Time Travel won the Best North American Short Film Award at the Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival 2022, Air Canada Short Film Award and Audience Award at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival 2022, and Audience Award at Tallgrass International Film Festival 2022. He was nominated in the Best Male Performance category for Welcome to Surrey and the Best Short Drama category for Mom vs. Machine (2021) at Leo Awards 2022.
