Prakash was born on March 3rd in Faridkot, Punjab, India. Prakash completed his education in Faridkot, where he studied at Government Balbir Senior Secondary School until 12th grade and later completed his undergraduate studies at Government Brijindra College.
Prakash is happily married to his wife and blessed with a son, Simrat Gill. Prakash likes to sing in his free time, and although he does not sing professionally, he is very good at it. The name “Gadhu” was given to him by his mother, and he has been working under the same name for many years as an alias in the film industry. While in college, Prakash used to do mono-acting and later won a gold medal for it. This achievement opened many doors for Prakash, and he started getting multiple offers for Punjabi movies.
Fresh out of college, Prakash performed in various movies, primarily known for his work in "Zora" in the short film series Family (2005–2014). Prakash is known for his work in supporting roles, and he has appeared in movies, namely Mitti Wajaan Maardi (2007), Jawani Zindabaad (2010), Chak Jawana (2010), Rehmataan (2012), Kabaddi Once Again (2012), Aiven Raula Pai Gaya (2012), Sajjan: The Real Friend (2012), Oye Hoye Pyar Ho Gaya (2013), Cross Connection (2014), Saab Bahadar (2017), The Great Sardaar (2017), and Nikka Zaildar 2 (2017).
