Majnu is an Indian actor whwell-knownor his work in the Punjabi film industry. He was born on 2 November 1913 and died at the age of 62 years on 26 March 1975. He was from Amritsar, India. Majnu’s original name was Harold Lewis, and he was a producer, director, screenwriter, and comedian. Harold’s father owned a cinema hall, and as a child, he developed a fascination with acting. In his childhood and adadolescence, Majnu playedhe role of a joker in various dramas and circuses. This formed the base for him to become a famous comedian in films. In the year of 1928, Majnu went to Mumbai with the hope of pursuing his career as an actor.
But having no success there, he went to Kolkata. Later Majnu got associated with big names like Batra Productions and Shorey Pictures. Majnu was well known for his comedy roles in Punjabi and Hindi films. He is famous for his roles in films like Ek Thi Ladki, released in 1949. He played the role of Mohan in the film. Other movies like Bhaagam Bhag (1956), Hum Sab Chor Hain (1956), and Lachhi (1949) brought him great appreciation and accolades. He was also a part of the movie Son of Ali Baba as director and actor. The film was released in 1955. The famous comedian took his last breath in 1975.
