Gurdeep Singh is a Punjabi Actor. He is known for his films such as The Departed, After. Life, Snakeeater, etc. He is the son of a railway inspector and has three siblings. He completed his schooling in Mumbai, where he was fascinated by the Bombay Film Studios. During this time has written in popular film magazines and has also published short stories in various literary publications. During his college days, he was invited by the All India Radio to read his shot stories. He later graduated with a degree in Applied Arts and a diploma in fine arts. After his Graduation, he started an advertising firm, CAS. He entered the film industry through his film Uski Roti, where he played the role of a demanding, hard drinking bus driver.

The film received mixed reviews. He has also worked as an art director in three New York City firms. In 1989, he started an advertising and marketing firm to serve national and international firms. He later on decided to close his advertising and marketing firm to entirely focus on his acting career. He lives in New York City with his family.
