Namrata Das, also known as Dolly, is a renowned veteran actress in the Odia film industry. She is mostly known for her supporting roles as mother and grandmother in films and television series. She was born on April 3, 1959 in Alapua, Kendrapara in Odisha. Her mother unfortunately passed away when Namrata was nine years old. She has six siblings, two brothers and four sisters. Das made her debut in the 1973 movie Dharitri and has since worked in over 200 Odia films, such as Tu Kahibu Na Mu, Kie Daba Takkar, Sindura, Target, Raju Awara, Ganga Siuli, Agni Beena, Bohu heba emiti, Astaraga, and 3 Bengali films such as Rakter Sindoor and Maa. She has also worked extensively in Odia TV shows such as Katha Kahuthile Saribani, Adhikara and Tapasya. January 2020, Das received the Bhumi Kenya award for her four-decade long contribution towards the Odia film industry. She is also the recipient of a state award for her versatility in the film Lakshmi Pratima.
