Smita Mohanty is an Indian actress who works predominantly in the Odia Industry. She was born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Talking about her career, she debuted in the industry in 1996, and has done 14 films to date. She is popularly known for movies and serials like Bapa in 1997, Bande Utkala Janani in 2008, and Kiese Dakuchi Kouthi Mate in 2011. She was even praised for her roles as Jaaya in Akhire Akhire, Rekha in Jibana Sathi, and Sunanda in Krishna Kaberi. She gained tremendous popularity and became a known face in every household when she acted in the serial Mausi, a remake of the Telugu serial Pinny. This serial was a boon to her career.
