Raj Rajesh is a film and television actor and dancer based in Orissa. He predominantly works in the Odia film industry. He has also acted in some of the web series and telefilms and has won quite a few awards for his performances. His father’s name is Niranjan Panda, and his mother’s name is Pushpalata Sarang. He was born in Jagatsinghpur in Orissa. His family moved to Bhubaneswar when he was a child. Rajesh was good at his studies but he was deeply passionate about dancing.

His mother was also an Odissi dancer who couldn’t pursue dancing professionally due to the responsibilities of the family. Therefore, Raj wanted to fulfill the dream of his mother. He used to watch television to practice dancing. When he was twelve years old, he got the chance to work with a famous comedian named Pom Pom on his show Faltu Katha. Raj played the role of his son on the show, and it was his first experience of acting on TV. Since then, he decided to become an actor, but at the same time, academics was his priority because his father wanted him to clear the civil services examinations.

Although Raj’s father wanted him to become a civil servant, his mother always wanted him to become an actor. Therefore, Raj got himself admitted to Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute. However, he had to struggle a lot to find work as he had no background in films or television. He used to visit Rabindra Mandap to watch the plays of an eminent theatre artist and director named Mr. Ajit Dash. Later, Raj was featured in a show called Savitri, but he had to quit the show due to his injury caused by an accident during Cyclone Fani.
