Shan Basnyat, a Nepali scriptwriter, studied for a diploma in Hotel Management from Singapore in 2008. He did a six-month Journalism course at Media Point, Banasthali. His first scriptwriting work was a social thriller film, Vigilante 3D, released in 2013. He is well-known for his work as a screenplay and dialogue writer in Jholay (2014), Punte Parade (2014), Chapali Height 2 (2016), Kolhapur Express (2018), and How Funny (2016).
