Dikesh Khadgi Shahi is an accomplished film director, producer and sound designer whose career spans diverse fields of film and television. He worked in sound design, post-production and mixing in film industries worldwide, and he is now based in Nepal. Currently, Dikesh works in Ace Studios in Nepal, where he is involved in a variety of projects which allows him to explore his creativity, such as movies, advertisements, podcasts, and other sound engineering works. Dikesh found his way into sound design and Williams' production when he enrolled at film school. He obtained a degree in film studies and audiography at Oscar International College of Film Studies. In addition to his undergraduate studies, Dikesh continued his education at the Asian Film Academy and graduated with a diploma in Film/Cinema/Video Studies, which was very prestigious. His love for film and sound saw him attend the Fajr International Film Festival, as well as participate in their Talent Campus in Tehran which gave him a chance to develop his skills further. Dikesh’s specialization continued to grow with the Film Sound Master’s course which he did from both the Screen Academy Scotland and Baltic Film and Media School, this was because these institutions are known to emphasize on sophisticated film production techniques as well as sound design. During this education period, he acquired basic skills in using tools and equipment in sound for film and television, such as Pro Tools and Cubase. Thus, he mastered himself to become a creative and technical sound professional for film and television. Dikesh has successfully taken part in many high-profile tasks throughout his career.
For Kharuday and various other films and television shows, he created and edited sound, mixed, and composed. His responsibilities have expanded to include location sound recording where the rostrum operator as well as the dialogue and ambient sound has been recorded for use in film productions, often in hostile and diverse settings. He has successfully contributed towards several documentaries, including the award winning “No Winter Holidays” which secured the Best Feature Documentary Award at the NAIFF in 2024. Dikesh is very much praised for his works on films including but not limited to Aztech (2020), Gharjwai (2024), Shambhala (2024) and others which raise his recognition as a proficient and creative sound designer. Being a part of these projects all allow him to be involved in the creation of impressive sound tracks which complement the story.
