Nigam Shrestha is a famous and celebrated director in the Nepali film industry. Shrestha was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. He studied film at the Kathmandu University School of Arts. After his graduation, he started his career in the film industry as an assistant director. His debut movie as a director was Chhadke in 2013. Shrestha's films are known for portraying the conditions and reality of Nepali society; they often touch on social issues such as poverty, discrimination, and gender inequality.
One of his notable works is Chhadke 2.0, which was released in 2023. This film portrays the backdrop of the Nepali Civil War and brings him well-deserved fame and acknowledgment. Some of his other popular works are Lalpurja (2018) and Chhadke (2013). His work has won him awards as well, namely the Best Film award at the 13th
