is also a singer. Their son is a piano teacher and a music arranger. After their marriage in the late 80s, Manila and Uday moved to Kathmandu, Nepal, to pursue a career in music.
Manila learned the basics of music from her uncle. He taught her to sing Bhajans. Manila became popular after her film, Mayalu. Manila and Uday have contributed to the Nepali modern music for more than quarter decade. Some of her albums include Jhajhalko, Darpan, Muskan, Katha, Aatma Katha, Bhid Dekhi Bahira, Sandesh, Marma, Upama, Sambaad, and Together. Together is a Hindi ghazal album. In 2023, Manila crooned Mann Lage for the film Sarathi.
