Salma Agha is a British actress and a singer who was originally of Pakistani ethnicity, although she was born in Britain. She was a famous actress in the Hindi films during the 1980's era until around to the 1990's time period. Her father, a gem businessman, who was well-known as well as well-respected in that area.

She’s a Muslim by religion, and was married to 'Rahmat Khan' and has two children as well who are namely, 'Sasha Agha' and 'Liaqat Ali Khan'. She has also had many relatives in this industry as well before she decided to enter the film industry which made it easier for her. She debuted with a film, which was named as 'Nikaah' and was directed by 'B. R. Chopra'. By her debut film itself she was lucky enough to win the title of, 'Filmfare Best Female Playback Award'. She has also acted in other films such as Kaasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, then in Salma and furthermore in ‘Pati Patni Aur Tawaif’, which contributed largely to her success in her singing as in her acting career.

She was born in a wealthy family, and her family shifted to London when she was nine years old; at the age of 16, she married a Pakistani man who was prominent in London. Salma and her sister Sabina produced and sang AGHA - Salma and Sabina Agha sing ABBA hit in Hindi. Her song faced criticism. India’s famous director invited his cousin Zarina Agha (Salma's mother) to his son Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh's wedding reception. In the reception, there were many prominent Indian directors, including BR Chopra. she was in search of a woman for a lead role in her new film named “Talaq Talaq Talaq". He saw agha and felt that she would be perfect for her movie.

When she got to know that Chopra was looking for a girl for his next film, she went to Mumbai and used her connection with Raj Kapoor and got hired. When the music director listened to her ABBA album, they signed her as the singer for their movie, and her song got more popularised before the release of her film. Due to Islamic clerics, the movie got stuck in censors but eventually got permission by changing the film’s name to “Nikah”. The movie proved to be the best, and it was a massive success for any debuting girl in the Hindi film industry. She soon purchased Reena's apartment in Bandra while Reena migrated to London with her cricketer husband Mosin khan.

Later she started to work for the Pakistani film industry and then married the squash Champion, Rehmat Khan. She just went on tour encouraging her album 'Husn'. She has a daughter. Salma owns a high-end boutique in Islamabad.
