Abhiroop Basu

Abhiroop Basu is a popular director and screenwriter from Kolkata. He was born on March 6, 1994 in Kolkata and has completed his schooling from South Point High School, Kolkata and did his B. Com from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. He graduated in Film Direction from Prague Film School, Czech Republic and took a screenwriting masterclass with Iranian director Mani Haghighi. Abhiroop started writing and directing films (shorts and ads) since he was 17. He has done filming in India as well as Europe and was selected at Festival de Cannes under the category of short film for two years in a row – 2016 and 2017.

Abhiroop was also selected to participate in an international filmmaking programme at the Alt Studio Tuscany in Italy.
