ARY Digital presents the show. The plot revolves around Munazza. After the death of her husband, she took charge of her house. She had two daughters, Meher and Sidra. Seeing the critical situation of the house, she decides to marry Meher with her cousin Saqib. Saqib is twice Meher’s age. At first, Meher rejected the proposal but later suppressed her feelings for her mother’s sake.

This show talks about Meher who is the main character of this story, she is a College girl, is outgoing and loves movies and entertainment Meher's friend named mateen is in love with her but manazza who is the mother of meher wants Meher to marry Saqib,the second cousin of her husband, who has recently died.

Meher’s life turns upside down when she’s married to a man older and twice her age, he is like a father figure to her. Saqib even agrees to set meher free and let her marry Mateen if she’s not happy in the marriage. This drama revolves around Meher and her life with Saqib, how she cope up with everything, she’s under family pressure she thinks a lot about the well being of her mother and the social pressure she goes through and her experience with an older man, the generation gap between the two. These themes are reflected with a powerful message. As its name justifies “shikwa” meaning “complain” which the daughter meher has all her life as she was forced to marry a man she did not want.
