Roshni is a Pakistani Urdu-language drama series that aired on channel Geo TV. The show centers around the life of a brave and outspoken girl named Roshni, who consistently stands up against injustice throughout the show. But her life takes a considerable turn when she becomes involved with Zameer Sahab’s family, which includes two sons, Hassam and Aman, and two daughters. The elder son, Hassam, is disabled due to his mother Mumtaz's ignorance during his childhood. Marrying someone is a huge life decision. For Roshni, this decision keep’s twisting with every turn. In the story, Zameer Sahab decides to marry Roshni to Aman after hoping she will help him mend his ways. This whole plan gets ruined when Mumtaz and Aman visit Roshni’s house and create a scene, eventually embarrassing Roshni’s father.

Later in the story, Hassam offers to marry Roshni, but her father refuses just because Hassam is disabled. After all the embarrassment, Aman decides to take revenge. And he does so by causing a scandal which results Roshni’s wedding being called off. After many twists and turns, Roshni marries Hassam. Maham Amir who has played the lead role of Roshni, has done a commendable job in bringing out the complexities in her character.
