The story shows the pressure of having a boy child in the families. The series revolves around a couple, Shahid and Farah. They are blessed with three daughters but get pressured by society and their in-laws for a son, because sons were considered more valuable than daughters. Farah tries many ways to have a boy, trying traditional and medical methods, but fails. The serial shows all the challenges and obstacles faced by the couple, including the strain that was put on their relationship and their emotional struggle. Farah loves her daughters, but also meets the influence of cultural norms, desire for a male child, and gender bias.

As a whole, the series tries to show the audience and educate them about the importance of all children, regardless of gender.
