Maya explores the theme of love, betrayal, struggles, class and social difference, jealousy, revenge, family and marriage in a traditional setting. Maya title song sounds as innocent, sweet as main character giving glimpse on how the serial is going to be avenging, betrayal, heartbreak and innocence all can be felt with its background music. The theme centers around Maya, the life of a young and innocent girl played by actress Hiba Bukhari.

She is a kind-hearted girl who has a pure soul and is a sweet, innocent girl who belongs to a middle-class family. Her life is turned upside down when Maya meets a wealthy, charming, and caring man, Faisal, played by Wahaj Ali. They both fall in love with each other and have developed deep affection. After a short brief, they decide to get married despite their different social classes and other differences. However, their happiness is short-lived and turns out to be a big disaster, as their family disapproves of it, especially Faisal's family, and particularly his mother, who has a strong grudge against her and rejects Maya due to her humble background, and his family keeps on conspiring against her to bring her to humiliation and suffering especially Faisal's mother she is a very cunning and manipulative woman she begins to spread rumors about Maya's character, trying to turn Faisal against her.

She also tries to isolate Maya from her friends and family, making her feel lonely and vulnerable. Furthermore, she conspires with her siblings to create misunderstandings between Maya and Faisal, trying to drive a wedge between the couple, also shaming her on parties, ridiculing her style and plotting her with another and proving her dishonesty. Maya faces various challenges and hardships as she tries to adjust to her new life and win over her in-laws. As the story unfolds, Maya's innocence and goodness are repeatedly tested, and she finds herself in difficult situations. Now Maya’s goodness is turning against her. How will she manage? Will Maya's love and patience be enough to overcome the obstacles, or will she get suppressed to the pressures of her new life?
