Dastaar E Anaa is a Pakistani Urdu serial that is dramatic in nature and is telecasted every Friday on TV One. The serial itself revolves and seeks to create awareness amongst the people to keep a perfect balance in a relationship. It also aims to negate the negative impact that society tends to provide on youngsters. The story revolves around a woman named Zebunissa, fondly called Zaib, who is portrayed as a dominant personality. She loves to have everything under her control and order around the people who interact with her. Whether these people are just partners in work or her family doesn’t stop her from dominating them in any way possible. She always tends to get irritated when she doesn’t have something done in her way. Mahnoor, a lead character, is introduced to the audience as the granddaughter of Zebunissa.

She is portrayed as a young woman who is very beautiful both inside and out. She is a kind and gentle soul who is sometimes afraid of her grandmother and tries to obey her every command to keep her happy, considering she also loves her to bits. However, everything changes when she meets the man who she falls in love with, and fate decides to test them to no bounds. The story however starts by introducing the audience to the main characters before they depict the new generation. Zaib is portrayed as the iron woman of the family who is married to a handicapped man named Muzaffar. Even though they have a son together named Hashim, their marriage holds no love for each other. She hates him for what he did in the past and to her past lover. Hashim, when he grows up marries a woman against the wishes of his mother which in turn made him to live far away with his wife and little daughter.

However, when the topic of managing the property arises, Zaib sends some men to bring Hashim back saying that she forgives him. However, when Hashim learns that she still doesn’t approve of his marriage he refuses to come back and chooses his wife and kid before anything else. Reluctantly, Zaib agrees with him and brings him back and reluctantly accepts his wife and daughter named Mahnoor. As the time flies by, Mahnoor becomes wary of her grandmother and goes out of her way to please her, obeying each and every order she gets from her. However, she falls in love with a man who is equally kind hearted and brave. It becomes a traditional love story from here and when Zaib doesn’t approve of their relationship, they find several obstacles in their path of love. But they refuse to back down. To add on top, another character named Waleed is introduced in the story, who is portrayed to be the main villain. Will the power of love succeed or will it succumb to the dangerous plans of another and whether the familial relations ever improve is what the rest serial constitutes.
