Chalawa" is a Pakistani drama series that premiered in 2021. It is about a family haunted by a mysterious creature named "Chalawa." This drama revolves around the struggles faced by the family in its quest to unravel the mystery behind Chalawa and trace its motives. The story takes place in a small town in Pakistan, where a family experiences a series of inexplicable and scary events that leave the family petrified. The family tries various techniques and methods to do away with Chalawa, but their efforts yield no output in their favour. They turn to local spiritual healer Baba Jee (Samina Ahmed) for help. Baba Jee suggests they perform several rituals to appease the Chalawa; however, this worsens the family's situation. Finally, the family discovers the truth behind Chalawa's existence and must face and pay for their past mistakes. They make amends and seek forgiveness from the spirit, and it finally leaves them alone. Overall, 'Chalawa' is an exciting, thrilling, and edge-of-the-seat drama that keeps the audience hooked till the very last scene. The actor's performances are worth mentioning; the story is well-written and engaging. The serial also touches on themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the consequences of one's actions. Worth the time and money for the audience, especially people who love watching supernatural dramas.
