Pakistan Media Awards, popularly known as PMA, have been organised every year since 2010. Its official name is the Pakistan Media award of the Merit. The second season was organised on 7th May 2011. The event took place at the Carlton Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan. Their coordination, wit and spontaneous humour added spark to the event. They kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the long event. This event was organised to celebrate and appreciate the talent of Television, Film, Theatre, Fashion, Journalism, and radio for the year 2010. The event tries to cover all the occupations that come under the media. This was done to honour their hard work and dedication towards their respective fields throughout the year. This ceremony has become a symbol of excellence and pride for all the nominees and winners in various categories.

Before starting the event, a moment of silence was kept in memory of the renowned entertainer Moeen Akhter. The famous comedians Babbo Barral and Mastana were also remembered for their contributions to the entertainment industry. The Dastaan Show on Hum TV was awarded the Best Drama of the Year. Fawad Khan from the same Show was awarded the Best Drama Actor. Sanam Balooch was also awarded the Best Drama Actress of the Year for the same Show. The famous Gazal singer Mehdi Hasan and funny actor Lehri were felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for this Year. Both of them were pretty old and wheelchair-bound.
