Plot

At the beginning of episode one, we are shown the scene in Central jail in 1985, where the police officers are seen taking attendance of the prisoners. Then we see prisoners hiding in big dustbins and safely sneaking out of the jail through the main gate. After coming out, all three of them meet the thieves and one of them holds the escapees a bag filled with guns and some clothes to change. From their conversation we understand that these three have been taken out of jail for a particular purpose. In the next scene, we see a song being shot at a set and Chandrasekhar, who plays the role of hero in the song gets frustrated and takes a break. He goes to a nearby bank to get his cheque cleared. At the bank, from Girija’s words, we understand that the bank manager is going to retire. Also, we got to know that Purushottam was the friend of Girija’s husband and he had an eye on Girija after her husband died. Shortly after this, a new employee Sravani reaches there. On the other hand, we see those prisoners sitting in a car, three of them were looking very nervous and from their conversation it seems that they are going to rob the bank. Will they be successful in their mission? The rest of the episodes revolve around it.

Star Performance

The cast Is up to the mark and performed well. Taraka Ratna is well chosen as a cop, also, Ravi and Sri Tej were perfect in portraying an energetic negative character. The director and the filmmakers also deserve compliments for setting the scenes and dialogues exactly as 1980s era.

Analysis

The series “Nine Hours” has a good gripping over its well narrated storyline with a top-notch camera, visuals and BGM. However, the series seems to be a little stretched to nine episodes whereas this could have ended in just six or seven episodes. Also, the ending and the climax were rushed and underexplained which was not a great closure to the cinema. Despite the shortcomings, the acting, cinematography and direction uplifted the movie and made it satisfying to watch.

If you are searching for something to sit back, relax and watch for weekends then you are at the right place. If you ignore its length then it can turn out to be a good watch.
