Okkare is a music show that aired on ETV Telugu channel. The anchors for the first part of the show were singer Ravi Varma He was born in East Godavari district, Andhra Prad >> Read More... and Pranavi. Actor and anchor Seethakanth and anchor Reshmi replaced them in the second part of the show. Okkare is a show where upcoming singers displayed their talent and competed among themselves to win the best singer award. It was a second season of the Okkare series, where the first one was called “Okkare little singer”, a children’s talent show. The judges of this season were Sumangali, a famous Tamil and Telugu singer and Ramani Bharadwaj, a South Indian music director, composer, singer-songwriter and music producer.

After a few episodes, Ramani Bharadwaj was replaced by Kamalakar, a music director, and Veturi Sundararam Murthy, a famous Telugu writer mostly known for his film songs. Talent shows dedicated to singers have become highly popular in the last three decades. Okkare is one such show that started with sixteen participants, who fought to be the “Okkare” title winner. The first few episodes featured eight people presenting a song, and in the later episodes, elimination rounds began. Each round had a different concept, which was decided by the judges.

Out of the sixteen participants, three participants reached the finals. They were Sriramachandra, Pardhasardhi and Santhosh. The grand finale spanned over three episodes, leaving the viewers restless. The grand finale had six rounds; introduction song round, dance number round, duet song round, classical song round, teasing song round and a medley round. The winner of the show was decided based on the performance of the three contestants in these six rounds. Veturi announced Sriramachandra as the title winner and presented him with a cash price of two lakh rupees. The runner up was Pardhasaradhi, who received one lakh rupees and the second runner up was Santhosh, who received a cash prize of fifty-thousand rupees.
