Ini Ellam Vasanthame is the Tamil dubbed version of the Hindi serial "Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi" telecasted initially on Sony TV. The show aired for the first time on Sony TV on 29 February 2016 at 9.30 PM. The average duration of the show is 22 minutes. The serial gained immense popularity in a short period. The show mainly revolves around the two crucial characters, Dev and Sonakshi. Dev is a famous businessman in Delhi who lives with his mother Ishwari and his three beloved sisters: Neha, Nikki, and Riya. Dev's uncle, his aunt, and their son also live in a large bungalow. On the other hand, Sonakshi is a consulting nutritionist and belongs to a middle-class Bengali family of five. Dev appointed Sonakshi as his mother's consulting nutritionist but eventually fell in love with her.

Both Dev and Sonakshi try to keep their relationship a secret, but Ishwari soon learns about it. She is not happy with the relationship and soon succumbs to depression. Seeing this, Dev breaks up with Sonakshi, but both suffer internally due to this. Realizing Dev's love for Sonakshi, Ishwari agrees to their relationship, and soon they are married. Meanwhile, Neha is married to her tutor Ranveer, but she returns home after a while, stating that she could not adjust to Ranveer's house. Many events take place simultaneously as Dev's cousin Vicky joins his company. Vicky traps Sonakshi's cousin Elena in his love. Sonakshi helps her elder brother Saurabh to overcome a financial crisis. Neha and Ranveer get divorced. Sonakshi gets pregnant, and the entire family, including Dev, rejoices over the good news.

The marital life of Sona and Dev starts on a good note. Ishwari is happy for them but still bears some resentment for Sona. The presence of Sona in Dev’s life irritates Ishwari as she hasn’t accepted Sona. This incident creates more problems for Dev as he struggles to balance his relationships. Vicky and Radharani plot against Sona and create differences between Ishwari and Sona. After further complications, Sona left the house. Dev got heartbroken over this and left for the farmhouse. Vicky created more complications by getting Dev drunk. Dev signs the divorce papers. Sona misunderstands the situation and ends up in a heated argument. After this incident, Dev and Sona separated their ways. Sona lives with her family in Kolkata. She has a six-year-old daughter named Suhana. Dev is unaware of the fact that Suhana is his daughter. He becomes a Casanova.

Sona gets a new opportunity in Delhi and shifts with her family. Unknowingly, she bought a part of Dev’s office. Suhana was a part of the same school where Dev’s nephew studies. There, Dev saw Sona and Suhana together. He figures out the truth about Suhana being his daughter. Sona and Dev agree on the condition that each of them will stay at each other’s house for the sake of their daughter. Eventually, Dev and Sona speak their heart out to each other. They admit that both of them were equally responsible for the failure of their marriage. They finally forgive each other and start a new journey as friends. Ishwari got framed by Khatri for a crime she didn’t commit. Sona saved Ishwari, which led to a change of heart in Ishwari. Ishwari finally starts liking Sona and accepts Sona for her personality. She apologizes for her past behavior and reconnects with Sona.

Dev and Sona realize their love for each other and decide to reunite. Sona and Dev then work together to fix their problems and bring the Dixit family back together. Dev and Sona also learn the truth behind their separation. Dev gets furious and kicks Vicky out of their house. They start living happily.
