1. Janaki Sabesh
Janaki Sabesh is renowned for playing mother roles to various top actors. Her main area of interest is Tamil and Telugu films.Â
Hailing from a Palghat Iyer family, Janaki pursued her schooling in New Delhi. Later she went on to do her degree in political science, and post graduation in Mass Communication. Janaki’s father opposed her into entering the film industry and she was told to test waters in films only after being wedded. During the year 1991, at her colleged days, Janaki worked in Rajiv Gandhi’s documentary along with Simi Garewal. Then she got wedded. Later she did various roles, including working in ads on TV's, anchoring shows, associating with inspirational lectures, and dubbing. Her debut film was the Tamil flick Minsara Kanavu, during the year 1997. Here she enacted the role of a nun. She also worked in the 1998 flick Jeans as Aishwarya Rai’s mother. She has over 25 films to her credit.Â

She thinks that she is lucky to tickle the humorous bones of the audience. Janaki considers acting as a passion rather than a full-fledged job. Having imbibed knowledge about the nuances of film making, Janaki empathizes with the dedication of prominent actors. In fact, she feels that she can learn a lot from experienced actors. Janaki is best remembered for her role in Gilli and even now people call her as Gilli amma. Besides acting, Janaki is also the Regional Head of Marketing department for a company. Janaki feels that she is fortunate to have an understanding family. Janaki has done only few movies, but she is indeed occupied with travelling and various other works.
