1. Manel Wanaguru
Actress Manel Chinthamani Wanaguru works in Sri Lankan theatre, film, and television. Manel Wanaguru was born on October 18, 1951. Her father, Dudley Samuel Wanaguru, was an actor. Wanaguru is married to Ananda Wickramage, a renowned actor and comedian. The couple has two sons, Janith Wickramage & Sanketh Wickramage, both of whom are actors. Manel Wanaguru’s acting career was awe-inspiring. She had experience working on numerous television series, including ‘Akuru Maki Na,’ ‘Anne,’ ‘Bath Amma,’ and ‘Bindunu Sith.’ She had experience working on theatrical productions such as ‘Raja Kapilla,’ ‘Su Saha Guru,’ etc. Manel Wanaguru received two Deepashika Awards in 1974 for ‘Kasthuri Suwanda’ for the best dramatic performance and once more in 2021 for the U.W. Sumathipala Lifetime Award for Contribution to Cinema.

Kalabhushana Ramya Wanigasekara was born on the 17th of July, 1936, in Kotiyakumbura, Sri Lanka. She works as an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, Television, and theatre. Along with being an actor, she is also a playback singer and a news reader. Ramya entered the world of drama as a playback singer with Chandi Gunathilake’s, Hewayo in 1974. After that, she became the background singer for most of Jayatissa Alahakoon’s plays. She debuted as an actor with Ranjith Dharmakeerthi’s Hasthiraja Mahaththaya in 1976, where she played a minor role. However, her breakthrough came with the 1978 play Mana Ranjana Weda Warjana, directed by Chula Kariyawasam. She played the role of Gunawathi.
