Madhava Wijesinghe was born on June 18, 1988, in Sri Jayewardenepura, Colombia, Sri Lanka. In 2011, Wijesinghe earned his Diploma in Writing and Communication from the Department of Sinhala and Mass Communication in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Following that, he successfully finished his diploma in television program production techniques and video technology at the National Youth Services Council, Maharagama.
At the age of five in 1993, Wijesinghe embarked on his acting journey with a notable role in the acclaimed film “Chanda Kinnari,” directed by Asoka Handagama. His performance as the youngest son of the lead actors earned him recognition. He also participated actively in the State Children’s Drama Festival, hosted student programs on the Independent Television channel and Sirasa TV, and appeared in numerous commercials. His lead roles in drama festivals earned him merit certificates, and he further showcased his talents in award-winning plays.
Transitioning to television, he joined TV Derana in 2005 as a presenter, hosting the Children’s reality show “Little Star” and later becoming a co-presenter for “Derana Champions Stars Unlimited.” He also starred in the television series “Wassana Sihinaya” and “ Thurya Thurya is a Sinhala teledrama aired on Sirasa TV o >> Read More... ,” which marked a turning point in his career. Additionally, he ventured into cinema with the biographical film “Anagarika Dharampala Srimathano.” Throughout his career, he remained active in various television serials, stage plays, and music videos, even establishing his own production company, “INNOV 8 Sri Lanka”, which focuses on producing television shows, music, videos, and commercials.
