Dhind is a part of a Marathi serial named Soanpaul. It premiered in 2008 on DD Sahyadri. Dhind is a particular part that focuses on the life of villagers as the sarpanch of the village announces restriction on liquor consumption. Villagers who are involved in frequent drinking sessions take an oath to be free of alcohol. The sarpanch warns the villagers that whoever is found drinking will be exposed to disgrace in the village. The name Dhind comes from the infamous Maharashtrian saying “Dhind Kadhane” that means exposed to disgrace publicly.
