Sindhu is a Marathi drama TV serial that aired on Fakt Marathi. This serial portrays the life of a young girl who loves to study and wants to pursue education but cannot due to societal reasons. The show is set in the 19th century. The societal norms were worse than that of today. While the right to education was still a measure that did not reach poor households, there was one more difficulty Sindhu had to face. Sindhu has always been a bright young girl who was born in a middle-class family. She became a victim of child marriage at a young age. She is a child bride. A young girl who was supposed to live her childhood had it snatched completely from her. But she did not let that pull her down. She faced all the challenges with optimism and a smile on her face.

Things change further when her husband dies, leaving her to be a widow. In earlier times, widows were subject to a lot of discrimination, and Sindhu once again became a target. She was denied her right to education, but even after all the restrictions, she continues to smile every day in hopes that one day she would pursue her study again. This serial focuses itself on a sensitive issue of child marriage that is still very relevant to this day.
