Ajit is portrayed as a character with two very different personas. He has a darker side to his character as throughout the season; he is seen to act on his emotions and kill and harm people in cold blood without a trace of guilt. He hides this side of himself behind his alias as a good doctor who wants to do good for society, and to the villagers, he is almost believed to be god-sent. Behind the mask of goodness and kind-heartedness, he is portrayed as a criminal with several dark secrets and a brilliant mind corrupted by utter psychosis, which threatens the lives of people he wants to save and protect.

At the end of the first season, it was seen that Ajit gets married to a woman named Dimple while Divya leads him to a tent where he is arrested. When the villagers stand by to protect him, the case ultimately lands in the court, where after a series of proceedings, Ajit is advised to cross-examine the events. Meanwhile, Devisingh tells his story to Dimple when she comes to visit Ajit and informs her that Dr. Ajit Kumar Dev was his twin brother and the person who is currently married to Dimple is the one who had killed his brother in the past adopting his name and persona to mix in the crowd of people easily. Dimple is in shock and denial after this revelation. However, due to lack of evidence, Ajit is released from jail.

The serial received a good rating for the plot, which led to the formation of the second season four months after the end of the first season. The second season begins where the first one is left off and continues the story of Ajit and how he adapts to the new circumstances and how he stirs clear of the path of doubt and spotlight for his crimes.
