Since it is a quirky comedy on love, it premiered on Netflix on February 14, 2020, Valentine’s Day.

Set in Lucknow in 1989, the show offers a sneak peek into the pre-Internet world. At that time, there was no Twitter, Tinder, Facebook, or anything to connect with new people worldwide. The series emphasizes that, in this era, finding love and sustaining it was more difficult. It revolves around a professor couple at Lucknow University, their students, a long-lost friend and his lover, and a schoolgirl in love with an older boy. Through these characters, the series explores various shades of love.

Sarita and Akhtar are the Lucknow University professors. They are a married couple who always quarrel. On the other hand, Rashmi and Dharam are the power couple of the same university. They are also the best friends of Angad, who does not believe in love. Then, there is a schoolgirl, Sunaina, dating a young man from Bombay. Sudhakar is an uncle of Dharam. One day, Sudhakar and his partner Mumtaz bumped into Akhtar at a poetry symposium. Akhtar then happily invites them to his home for dinner. However, this does not sit well with Sarita.

Meanwhile, Angad celebrates his birthday at his friend Shontu’s farmhouse. Shontu likes a girl, Mamta, and Angad promises to help woo her. Begrudgingly, Akhtar agrees to watch a movie with his wife but also brings Sudhakar along. It became the final straw in creating a rift in the married life of Akhtar and Sarita. After much contemplation, Sarita let her husband know about her decision to get a divorce. Heartbroken and angry, Akhtar finds himself drunk in Sudhakar’s house. There, Sudhakar also reveals the truth about his relationship with Mumtaz.

On the contrary, power-hungry Dharam joins a local goon, Babbu Bhaiya, and his party. The goon convinces him to run for university elections from their party. This step starts to damage his relationship with Rashmi. Shontu successfully impresses Mamta with the help of Angad. After that, Mamta nominated him as the official Presidential candidate from her Communist Party for the university elections. However, during a heated debate, sparks fly between Angad and Mamta. This event makes Angad rethink about helping Shontu.

Now, a new twist occurs. Shontu got kidnapped, and Mamta had to step up as the new presidential candidate. Meanwhile, Akhtar and Sarita go on a honeymoon trip to the Taj Mahal, Agra, before finalizing their divorce. Mamta starts getting more and more popular by the day. Hence, Dharam takes some of the goons to threaten her to back down from the elections. However, his actions angered Babbu Bhaiya and deeply damaged his relationship.

Before the impending divorce, Sarita and Akhtar spent quality time in Agra. Meanwhile, Sudhakar and Mumtaz decide to move to Barabanki to start afresh. But, the past of Mumtaz came back to haunt her. On the other hand, Dharam became desperate to regain the favor of Babbu Bhaiya. So, he decides to help Sunaina in running away with her lover. However, his girlfriend, Rashmi, realizes her love for Angad and decides to confess to him in person. The final showdown happens at Agra railway station. Police witness a brawl among the couples, resulting in their break-up and patch-up. Some couples reunite, and some drift apart. The life goes on, and love keeps on mutating like a virus. Intriguing narrative and quirky stories make this Netflix web series a lovely binge-watch-worthy choice.
