Plot

Arif was the King of Mumbai’s movie piracy circuit, once. He tries to mend his torn empire. However, his redemption journey is not about coming back to dominance. He struggles against himself in the process of reviving and not against the rivals. The rest of the story revolves around his emotional internal battle.

Star Performance

Munawar’s performance is decent. He delivered well in the emotional thought process sequences. Gulshan Grover is quite decent in his role. Raza Murad has a good commanding screen presence. Krystle D’Souza is okay in her role. Ashi Singh, Saqib Ayub, and Meiyang Chang are good in their roles.

Analysis

The director’s part is appreciable, as he hold the narrative gripping in the complex plot. The screenplay is designed well with a brisk pace. The dialogues are quite good. The stars did a decent job. Yet, some roles are not written well. Too many subplots spoiled the interest in continuous watching. Mona played by Krystle oscillates between positive and grey, and makes the audience guess her actions till the end. However, the action sequences should’ve been better. The production design team deserves appreciation for bringing in the early 2000s. The songs and the BGM help the sequences elevate well. The visuals are good, and the editing is decent.

Verdict

Despite the flaws in the series, it has an interesting script, screenplay, and performances. First Copy Season 2 – Watchworthy.
