Bandon Mein Tha Dum is an Indian web series. It is a documentary. In total, this series contains four episodes. Neeraj Pandey and Arvind Singh directed the web series. The writers of the show are Bharat Sundaresan and Vaibhav Mutha. Currently, Voot Select is streaming the show. The cast includes Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari, Mohammed Siraj, Pat Cummins, Washington Sundar, Paddy Upton and Tim Paine. Praveen Kathikuloth edited the series.
Plot
The documentary records the most fantastic winning of Indian cricket team. They won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series in 20320. The Indian Cricket Team defeated Australian team on their home land, Gabba. They had the legacy of not being defeated for almost 32 years. The show in total has four episodes. Each one of these episodes showed the four matches India played with Australia. The Indian Cricket Team won the game by 2-1 which is applaudable as Australia was continuously winning for last 32 years. The series also showed the struggles of the team members. The members suffered a lot due to some internal problems. Among the top eleven players some were injured and some were unable to play due to different reasons.
In the series, the top players including Pujara, Aswin delivered exceptionally throughout the series. They even guided the other members. The newcomers gave their performance exceptionally as well. The young boys successfully kept the honour retained and lived upto the expectations of people. In 2020, when covid was devastating the people's life all over the world, the Indian Cricket Team redefined the notions of hardwork, consistency, and faith.
Star performance
As the web series is a documentary, it doesn’t include any actors. But all the real life players who played the Test match in 2020 are themselves playing their roles in the series. The leading players include Ravichandran Aswin and Cheteshwar Pujara who played exceptionally in the documentary. They also guided their team members through hardship. The new comers like Ajinkya Rahane, Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari, Mohammed Siraj, Pat Cummins, Washington Sundar, Paddy Upton and Tim Paine have also delivered fantastic performance. Other than their performance in the match, all of them presented the emotional and intense moment perfectly on the screen.
Analysis
This show, Bandon Mein Tha Dum, is a great series. Even though, Indians have many emotions connected to cricket, the series’ plot is riveting and full of thriller. The documentary rightly captured all the hard work of the players. Not only the script, but its execution is also top notch. The emotional and intense scenes are incredible. The real players that were in the team played their part themselves in the series. Surprisingly, they did a really incredible job. The major thing about the documentary is that it is a well researched show.
Despite knowing the ending, the series yet left the audience in awe. It is a very emotional and overwhelming series. However, in some scenes the narrators voice was unsatisfactory and irritating. The ground background noises seemed fake as well. The film has an exciting plot. Neeraj Pandey’s direction was fantastic, he framed the legacy of Indian Cricket Team into a structured show. The planning of four episodes was well formatted. Cinematography of this series is one of the most attractive thing here. Cinematographers did a great job. The musical tracks in the series are great as well. They complemented various themes like hardwork and consistency.
