Kaun Banega Crorepati 7 rehearsals started on June 26, 2013 and the registration begins on June 27, 2013. This season was presented by actor, and the tagline used was Seekhna Bandh Toh Jeetna Bandh or Learning Stops so Winning Stops. The grand prize was increased from ₹50- Million to ₹70-Million as well as the number of questions from thirteen to fifteen. Season 7 started on September 6, 2013, one year after the KBC Season 6 and then it ended on December 1, 2013. There are total of 15 questions to make it to the jackpot question. They discontinue the lifelines, Ask the Expert and Double Dip, and revived the Flip the Question and 50:50 lifelines instead.

The Ghar Baithe Jeeto Jackpot question is still there. The Sapta Koti Sandook or the 7th Jackpot is made of four questions, allowing the contestants to win from ₹10-Million, ₹30-Million, ₹50-Million up to ₹70-Million. The Fastest Finger First system was altered on this season. The leader board winner formed after the 3 questions and sits on KBC’s Hot Seat.

In Season 7, , a professor of history from Rajasthan became the very first contender to be called as the ‘Crorepati’, with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000,000. According to him, he didn’t use the Flip the Question lifeline because he needed the money for his child’s operation. He said he is unsure whether he can answer the next question correctly and if he uses it, he won’t be able to quit which means, if his answer is wrong, his winning will amount to Rs 320,000 only and he could not provide enough money for his child’s operation.
