Channel V’s show Friends -Conditions Apply took off on 8th December. The show was a thriller cum fresh and a huge production. Produced by KabirSadanand, the show had some of the shots in Manali in the hard climate.The show portrayed the story of Shakti (ShivaniTomar) who could take any drastic step to accomplish whatever she wanted, to the level of getting her friends abducted to help the release of her foster father. The first few episodes have been shot in Manali, after which the crew shot at several outdoor places. The promo touched a milestone with an eight lakh viewership on YouTube.

Lavanya, who is the Content Head of Channel V, said that they were excited for the show as the take-off point was everyone changes in the conditions of hardship. As the story moved forward, each of the characters secrets get exposed, and the real faces of individuals came out at times of difficulty. The show was put on hold due to World Cup. The story is about a girl Shakti, who watched her parents' being killed at an early age. The only individual left is Rajneil, her guardian. Shakti was suffering from a nervous disorder for which she used to take medications. After some years, Shakti finds her guardian shackled in jail. Shakti thinks he is guiltless and swears to get him released.

Shakti formulates a treacherous plan to get some wealthy teenagers kidnaped and then compel the administration to release Rajneil in exchange for them. Shakti plans to have her best friends Isha, Binoy, Juhi, Imple, and Chirag a part of the plot. Her plan ultimately works, but she discovers herself in some unusual situations. ProducerKabirsaid that the story of Friends -Conditions Apply dealt with the point that friends may not remain friends in the times of hardship. It was emotional and fast moving thriller and kept the viewers bonded. They shot the scenes amid snowflakes and frosty weather. All the actors in the show were newcomers, and all of them had marvelous time shooting in Rohtang. The crew had to face some problems too, primarily telling dialogues in cold conditions.

It consisted of 52 episodes which depicted the story of how a set of best friends go for a getaway, with Shakti risking the lives of her friends to save her guardian.

Friends: Conditions Apply is a teenage fictional drama that aired on Star Network’s Channel V. The show was part of Star’s attempt to cater to the youth market with new and bold content. The show was produced by KabirSadanand under his company’s banner – Frog Unlimited. The show went on a hiatus during the 2015 Cricket World Cup. This comes as a shock to Shakti, and she believes that Rajneil is innocent. She is firm in her belief and vows to free her guardian. To fulfil her wish, she devises a cunning plan with the help of Murli. Shakti plans to kidnap her friends, who are the children of the ruling class of the nation. She then hopes to pressurize the government in freeing her guardian in exchange for the kids. She finds the perfect target in her friends and kidnaps them. However, what follows is an interesting turn of events.

The plot thickens, and Shakti starts to see the consequences of her actions. Her past catches up with her as she tries to make her plan work and free Rajneil. The show was taken off air quite prematurely and was not allowedto complete its story. However, the plot is still interesting and showcases the changing dynamics of friendships in modern times.
