Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) was founded in 2012 and established in 2016 as an initiative to honor individuals from the entertainment industry for their exemplary work. The legacy of the Late Shri Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, lovingly known as Dadasaheb Phalke – The Father of Indian Cinema is maintained through this annual award ceremony. DPIFF is India's only independent International Film Festival that appreciates the work of aspiring young artists and independent and professional filmmakers.
Celebrities that appeared at DPIFF in 2016 include Shreyas Talpade, Zareen Khan, Dabboo Ratnani, Gautam Rode and Sunny Leone, among others. Various media personalities, such as popular Radio Jockey RJ Malishka and Reporters from Aaj Tak, were present at the award show interacting with the celebrities.
