and Manan Josh in lead roles. It premiered on 24 July 2023 and instantly became a favourite of the audience because of its beautiful story. The story revolves around the life of our protagonist, Radhika, a young girl- considered to be a misfit/an outcast due to her fatness. She lives in Kanpur with her family which runs the business of a sweet shop. Radhika is constantly made aware of her ‘indifference’ and gets rejected by boys. Her mother is afraid that she will never be able to meet a guy who would accept her and her body. She finally marries Divyam but soon finds out that her father and Divyam had a deal.
What is the deal between the two? How does Radhika react to all of this? Will she be able to have a happy married life with her husband? The rest of the story deals with that. The show aims to reveal the double standards of our society. It prioritizes wealth and looks, while the inner beauty of the person is entirely out of the question. Also, if this story featured a boy instead of a girl, would there be a difference? A lot. Men always have the window to be however they are- Old/Fat/ Cruel doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is Money- what job they have. But when it comes to finding the right girl for a boy she MUST be good-looking or she will be a victim of humiliation. Hence, the series is a powerful commentary on the current situation of our society and suggests that we should break free from such narrow-minded opinions.
