Sushmita was also successful in the television industry. She played as Kitty, the assistant of Karamchand (played by Pankaj Kapur) in the popular comedy thriller series, Karamchand on DD National in 1980’s. Her performance in this serial gained her success and fame. She was also seen in Kab Tak Pukaroon, Ek Nayi Choti Si Zindagi, Isi Banahe and Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu. From 2005 to 2006, she acted as Romilla Nanda in the romantic drama series, Kavyanjali on STAR Plus. She also played as Gangiya in Swastik Pictures Production’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo in 2009. From the same year, she was also seen as Chandy in the comedy serial, Gunwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on SAB TV.
