Fred Kismatwala is an animated series with action, adventure, and comedy dubbed in Hindi. The show targets a 6-12 year old audience and aired on Gubbare TV and is also available on YouTube. It aired in more than 150 countries and won the Best Animation Television Program at the 2011 Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. It also won the Best Animation European Series at the Euro Film Festival Spain in the same year. Myriam Ballesteros created the original series, Lucky Fred. Fred is a 13-year-old lucky boy living in Barcelona. One day, he stumbles upon a shape-changing robot that crashed from space.
This robot imprints on Fred and can transform into anything on his command, like- boxing gloves when the school bully picks a fight, a jet pack, a translator for girl talk, etc. Fred named him Friday. However, this robot was a gift for his neighbor, Braianna, or secret agent Brains. She disguises herself as an awkward schoolgirl and protects Earth from alien invasions, escaped bug populations, sewer bears, and whatnot. The robot was supposed to help her in her missions. But now he listens to Fred’s voice commands only. So, left with no choice, Brains has to team up with Fred and the robot to fight against alien invasions and other problems. Together, the duo goes on various adventures and saves the world with the help of Friday.
