Shreya Ghoshal, one of the most famous singers in Bollywood today, was born on March 12th, 1984, in Berhampore, West Bengal. Her father Biswajit Ghoshal is an electrical engineer and mother Sharmistha Ghoshal is a postgraduate in literature. She started singing since the age of 4 when her mother taught her. She started her formal training in Hindustani classical Gharana of music when she was only six years old. She was trained for 18 months after which she continued her training in Mumbai with Late Mukta Bhideji. She completed her graduation in Arts with majors in English. Her first on-stage performance was at their club’s annual function. Her first studio album was in Bengali in 19998 and was named Bendhechhi Beena, and her first onscreen performance was in Awaz Nayi Andaaz Wohi. In 1995, she became the winner of All India Light Vocal Music Competition. Her fame and career began with her winning a television singing reality show named Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress and model. She was born on 5th January 1986. Deepika is one of the most famous celebrities. She is working in Bollywood films and won two film fare awards. She is the daughter of the badminton trouper Prakash Padukone. Copenhagen was the birth place of Deepika. She was raised in Bangalore. She frolicked badminton in national level championship in her teenage but later on she switched her career from spots and became a model. In 2006 she did receive some offers for Indian films and did her film debut. In 2007 she did double role in her first Indian bestseller film Om Shanti Om. In the same year she won the film fare award for best female debut. In 2009 she performed in an Indian film Love Aaj Kal and in 2010 she acted in a drama Lafangey Parindey. Her performance in Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008 and Housefull in 2010 got negative reviews.

In 2012 her performance in the super hit movie Cocktail was turning point of her career and she won many awards in different ceremonies and she was nominated as the best actress. After that she acted in many super hit films of Bollywood such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013, Chennai Express which is also released in 2013 and Happy New Year in 2014. She won film fare in 2013 for the performance and lovely acting in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Deepika Padukone also did many stage shows as well. She has also inscribed posts for Indian newspapers. She is a prominent celebrity and brand ambassador for many brands and products.

Born in an army family to Col. AjayKumar and AshimaSharma on May 1st 1988, Anushka Sharma has excelled in her career as an actress. Upon graduating from Mount Carmel College, she set her eyes in the modeling world. Her breakthrough came when she modeled for Wendell Rodricks at the Lakme Fashion Week in 2007. She at the time had no such aspirations to become an actress.

In 2012, she worked with Shah Rukh Khan again in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. She played the role of Akira Rai, a documentary filmmaker, in the romantic drama. For her role in the movie she won the Best Supporting Actress at Filmfare, Zee Cine, Stardust, and IIFA awards. Anushka recently starred opposite Aamir Khan in the blockbuster PK. The movie, which questions religion and the superstitions that come with, became a huge hit worldwide. It has broken box records in India and around the world for an Indian film. Anushka made her debut as a producer in NH10 in 2015 along with playing the leading role. It is a crime-thriller that looks at various social issues such as honor killing and street crimes in India.

Born in Jamshedpur, Priyanka’s parents were doctors in Indian Army. Kirron Kher or Kirron Anupam Kher was Kiran Thakar Singh in real life. She was born on June 14, 1955 in Punjab, India and she was raised in Chandigarh. Because of her belief in numerology, she decided to alter her name from Kiron or Kiran to Kirron. She is a veteran Indian film and television actress. She is also a theatre artist and a television host who belongs to the Bhartiya Janata Party. She was voted in Lok Sabha, the lower house of India’s Parliament. Kiran is the sister of Kanwal Thakar Kaur, a popular badminton player. She has a brother who died last 2003 and another sister who was married to a retired Naval Officer.

She studied in Chandigarh and graduated in the Department of Indian Theatre of Punjab University. She got married to Gautam Berry, a wealthy businessman from Mumbai. They had a son name Sikandar Kher who is also an actor. Later, the two had a divorce and she remarries the Bollywood actor, Anupam Kher in 1985.

During the 80’s, Kiran tried her luck in the film industry to no success. She visits different producers and search for any role in films. Before she got married to Anupam, they have become friends since he is also a struggling actor and they have known each other in the University of Chandigarh. They worked in the same theatre industry and worked together in Chandpuri Ki Champabai. Anupam got his break in the film, Saaransh and later he divorced his wife. Kiran gets divorced as well and she got married to Anupam. The two are now running a production house.

She was debuted as a film actress in the Punjabi film, Aasra Pyar Da in 1983. Later, she had her break in films. From 1983 to 1996, she did only one Hindi film, Pestonjee with Anupam Kher. She came back into theatre and performed in the play, Saalgirah under the direction of Feroz Abbas Khan. Then she became a host of television shows like Zee TV’s Purushkshetra, Kiron Kher Today and Jagte Raho before she started doing Bollywood films. On her comeback to the big screen, she was awarded the Special Jury Award in the National Film Awards for bagging the role of Sardari Begum in the Hindi film, Sardari Begum in 1996. Then, she did the critically acclaimed Bengali film, Bariwali where she played the lead role as Banalata in year 2000.She won the Best Actress Award in the National Film Award but there are rumors that the Bangla actress, Rita Koirla dubbed for her character in the film. Rita wanted to share the award with her but Kiran claims that she spent many hours on practicing her dialogues, and so the award should not be shared by anyone.

She appeared in the romantic drama film, Devdas in 2002 and played the role of Sumitra Chakraborty. She gained a nomination in the Filmfare’s Best Supporting Actress award. She also did the French/German film, Khamosh Pani in 2003. This is the story that depicts the predicaments of a woman who was abducted while the partition of Bristish Indian Empire is happening. She got the Best Actress Award in the Locano International Film Festival in Switzerland, Karachi’s International Film Festival in Argentina’s International Festivals in Ciepie, South Africa’s Cape Town. The film received few awards as well.

In 2004, the IFFLA or Indian film Festival of Los Angeles, paid tribute to her during their yearly festival. In 2010, she did the episode, Damaged in the television series, ER together with her husband. In 2005, she appeared as Sunanda in TV serial, Prratima which was aired on Sahara One. Prior to this, she also made an appearance in television series like Isi Bahane, Dil Na Jaane Kyon and Chausath Panne.

She earned positive responses from her films Main Hoon Na, Veer Zaara, Hum Tum and Mangal Pandey: The rising. Her role as Mitro, the mother of DJ (played by Aamir Khan) in the Indian drama film, Rang De Basanti became a box office and gained her nomination to the Filmfare’s Best Supporting Actress Award. She was also appreciated in her characters in Fanaa and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Kiran also did some comedic roles in Singh is Kinng, Dostana and more. She was also one of the juries in India’s Got Talent in 2009.

Kiran was nominated and won many awards. She was also part of different non-profit movements such as Laadi and Roko Cancer. Recently, she won the Lok Sabha seats which defeats Pawan Bansal and Gul Punag in the General Elections.

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad, India. Bachchan's father was a prestigious Hindi poet Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and his mother, Teji Bachchan, was a Sikh socialite. Being his parents’ first born, he has a junior male sibling resembling to his name Ajitabh. Bachchan went to Sherwood College before enlisting in Delhi University to complete his B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) degree. He became a cargo dealer in Calcutta after completing his graduation. Amitabh Bachchan married to Jaya Bhaduri and has one son named Abhishek and one daughter named Shweta. Bachchan's father passed on in 2003 and his mother in 2007.

In 1969, Bachchan made his film debut in Saat Hindustani a film administered by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas which won him the National Film Award for Best Newcomer. By the early 1970s, Bachchan had collected fame in crowds as the "Angry Young Man" in an arrangement of successful Hindi gimmick movies. His featuring part in Zanjeer was especially instrumental in propelling him to fame as an action-movie film legend. Amitabh didn’t stopped gaining fame and popularity and soon he delivered another successful movie Anand in 1971. Anand was followed by movies like Reshma Aur Shera and Parwana in the same year.

Being family friend with Rajiv Gandhi, he got an opportunity to choose to run for seat in the Congress from the place where he grew up. He challenged Allahabad's seat of eighth Lok Sabha against H. N. Bahuguna, previous Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and won by one of the highest victory margins in history (68.2% of the vote). His political life, on the other hand, was fleeting in view of debates especially after Rajiv and he were embroiled in the now scandalous "Bofors" case alongside the U.K. based Hinduja Brothers.

In 1997, Bachchan endeavored to make his acting comeback with the film Mrityudata, produced by ABCL. However, the film was a disappointment both fiscally and basically. His vocation was spared with a successful film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998)”. In 2000, Bachchan facilitated the first season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC)”. Jackky Bhagnani is a talented actor in the Bollywood industry He is the son of Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani He was born on the Christmas day: 25th December in Kolkata, West Bengal & he belongs to a Sindhi family. He completed his schooling at St. Teresa High School & Graduation from H.R College in Mumbai. At the age of 19, he realized that he should pursue his career in acting & asked his dad to produce a movie for him. Thus, he made his debut with ‘Kal Kisne Dekha’ (2009) movie produced by his dad vashu. Though this film didn’t work well at the box office, he won the IIFA “Star Debut of the Year” Award & Star Guild Award for “Best Male Debut” for this film in 2010. He has also did roles in a few films such as ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’ (2012), ‘Rangrezz’ (2013), ‘Youngistaan’ (2014) & ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ which was released this year in May. However, unfortunately, these films didn’t achieve much success at the box office. But his film ‘F.A.L.T.U’ directed by Remo D’Souza which was released in 2011 proved to be a hit at the box offices.

Born on 10th September 1972, Anurag Kashyap has established himself in Bollywood as a prominent director, producer, and screenwriter while even giving acting a try.  A born and raised Uttar Pradeshi, Kashyap had keen interest in science and aimed to become a scientist. In an interview Anurag said that he had no dreams of going into the film industry and had all hopes of pursuing Zoology. He went on to say, this all changed in 1993 after he watched Bicycle Thieves, an Italian film directed by Vittorio De Sica. The film inspired him enough to give us becoming a scientist and move to Dehli to become a filmmaker.    

Anurag got his first chance in the industry as a screenwriter for Auto Narayan when the initial script by Subramaniam was not working and Anurag was given a chance to rewrite it. He then wrote the screenplay for Jayate, a Hansal Mehta film, which was never released. Ram Gopal Varma was impressed by Anurag’s work in Auto Narayan and signed him for the screenplay and dialogue for his thriller, Satya. The film was critically acclaimed as one of the best crime, gangster movie of Bollywood. He then dabbled with production after some time with his director debut in Paanch. The movie faced trouble with the certification board due to the content not being suitable for all.  In 2012, he took on two ambitious movies in Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2, which received numerous awards and outstanding reviews. He recently produced and directed Bombay Velvet, which is currently in theatre and has received praise from critics.

Amol Gupte was born in 1962 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a prominent screenplay writer, actor and a director as well. He is particularly regarded for his work in the Bollywood movie 'Taare Zameen Par', which got released in the year 2007. He did as a creative director and a screenplay writer. He did acquire the movie and its concept along with his wife Deepa Bhatia. He had also been the chairperson for the Children's film society right from 2012 till now. As right now, he has directed three movies and worked as a screenplay writer for three movies.

A.R. Murugadoss is such a familiar name all over India. He is one among the best film directors in India. Being born in the southern state Tamilnadu, A.R. Murugadoss reached fame in northern states too. His popularity rose, through the film Ghajini starred by Surya and Asin. After watching this film, Bollywood star Aamir Khan called A.R. Murugadoss and asked him to direct the film in Hindi. The success of the Hindi Ghajini is the turning point in A.R. Murugadoss’s life. His debut movie was Dheena. He became a well known director after the Tamil Block Buster movie Ramana, starred by Vijaykanth and Simran. A.R. Murugadoss has directed Vijay in Thuppakki and Kaththi; Ajith in Dheena; Surya in Ghajini and 7 Aum Arivu. He is not only a good director, but a better script writer and a producer too. He produced the film Maan Karate, led by Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Thirukumaran, his assistant. Madurai Meenakshi is the first film, which released with the dialogues written by A.R. Murugadoss. 10 Enradhukkulla and Akira are the upcoming movies in the list of A.R. Murugadoss. Out of which Akira is directed by him and 10 Enradhukula is produced by him. Some of his popular production works are Raja Rani, Engaeyum Eppothum and Vatthi Kucchi. This great director from Kallakurichi, a small town near Trichy did his schooling in the Government Higher Secondary School.

Shiamak Davar, the well-known Choreographer of Indian origin, is the one who first introduced the western dance form in India. The dancer is born to Nani Davar and Puran Davar. Born and brought up in Mumbai, with siblings Shireen Davar and Darab Davar, the dance lover had early dreams of having dance as a career. He has known as the ‘guru of contemporary dance’ in India. He recently choreographed the dance numbers in Mission Impossible 4. The contemporary dance guru has choreographed many award functions such as the Filmfare Awards and the IIFA Awards. He has worked and made actors like Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Sushant Singh Rajput dance to every beat possible. Rishi Kapoor is an actor born in the prominent Kapoor family who has a long history of Hindi cinema where members of the family had careers as actors, producers or directors. Rishi Kapoor was born to veteran actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor on September 4, 1952, in Mumbai. Born with a silver spoon, it was not a difficult task for him to make a debut in films. Raj Kapoor gave him a chance to play a teenager, who was caught on the thin line of boyhood and adulthood in the movie Mera Naam Joker. The film fell flat in the box office, and Raj Kapoor was in massive financial loss. 

Shah Rukh Khan or also known as SRK is a prominent Indian film actor, television personality and producer. He was born on November 2, 1965 in New Delhi, India. He is often called as the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’, ‘King Khan’ and ‘King of Bollywood’. The actor has done more than 80 films in Bollywood. He was cited as ‘The World’s Biggest Movie Star’ by the Los Angeles Times. Khan is also one of the wealthiest actors in the world, with over $400–600 million net worth. He also won several accolades including the 14 Filmfare Awards.

Khan went to St. Columba’s School in Delhi where he topped in studies and sports like football and hockey, where he got the Sword of Honour Award, a school’s highest award. He acted in several stage plays and gained praises for mimicking Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. He studied at Hansraj College from 1985 to 1988 to get a degree in Economics but the actor spent much of his time in attending the Theatre Action Group (TAG) in Delhi. He studies acting through his mentor, Director Barry John. Later, Khan studied at Jamia Millia Islamia and took up a degree in Mass Communications, but he left it to enter the showbiz industry. He attended Delhi’s National School of Drama on his early years in Bollywood.

He started his career during the late 80’s with some appearances in many television series. He was debuted in Bollywood in the blockbuster hit film, Deewana in 1992. He was also recognized for doing villain roles in movies like Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam. He rose to fame after he was starred in various romantic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In year 2002, Khan gained critical acclaimed for his role as an alcoholic in the romantic drama film, Devdas; as a scientist of NASA in Swades; a coach in Chak De! For his outstanding contributions to the film industry, he received the Padma Shri Award by the Government of India and the Legion d’honneur and Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France.

This year, he became the co-chairman of Red Chillies Entertainment and all its subsidiaries. Khan became one of the owners of the cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders of the Indian Premier League. He is also a regular host and stage show performer. The media called him as Brand SRK due to his many endorsements and business ventures. He is also a philanthropy who has given health care and reliefs to the disaster victims. He gained the UNESCO’s Pyramide con Marni Award in year 2011 for supporting the education of many children.

Khan got married to Gauri Chibber on October 25, 1991 and they have been blessed with a son named Aryan and a daughter named Suhana. In year 2013, through a surrogate mother, the couple had another baby named Abram.

Ranbir Kapoor is a noted Indian film actor. He was born on September 28, 1982, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to Rishi (Bollywood film actor, producer and director) and Neetu Singh (Bollywood actress). His grandfather, Raj Kapoor, is also a noted film actor, producer and director and was once called “The greatest showman of Indian cinema”. He has a sister named Riddhima, an interior and fashion designer. Ranbir, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor were first cousins. He studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim. During an early age, he admitted that he never had a close relationship with his father.

Abhishek Bachchan, or Abhishek Srivastava, is a very well known famous celebrity in the Indian film industry. He is the son of Bollywood’s biggest iconic stars, Amitabh Bachchan, who made more than 100 films in his acting career and won over 30 awards. Abhishek is also known by the name Junior B. He was born on February 5th, 1976, in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Mohit Chauhan is a Bollywood playback singer. He was born on March 11, 1966 at Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, India. He was also a previous front-man of the band, Silk Route. Mohit is fluent in Pahari, Hindi and English languages. He went to St. Xavier’s School in Delhi and then he came to Himachal Pradesh to finish his studies. He graduated college with a Master of Science in Geology at Dharamsala College. 

Ayub Khan is a famous Indian Film and TV actor who came from the family of “Pathan” actors and actresses. He was born on February 23, 1969. He was the son of the Indian and Pakistani actor, Nasir Khan who was also the brother of the actor, Dilip Kumar. His mother is the Hindi Film Actress, Begum Para, aunt of actress, Amrita Singh. Ayub acted in more than 20 films in his film career that started in the year 1992 and has done many television shows. Ayub was married to Niharika Khan, a Bollywood Costume Designer, known for her famous work in the musical film, “Rock On!!” and the biographical film, “The Dirty Picture”. The couple met while in college but when Niharika went abroad to study, she got married to another guy.  After more than a decade of her marriage, Niharika divorced her first husband and got married to Ayub Khan. They are blessed with two daughters, Tahura and Zohra Khan.
