English Web Series Manhunt

Manhunt is an English web series that started streaming on Apple TV on 15th March 2024. It is based on Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer written by James L. Swanson. It is a seven-episode series. Pilot, Post Mortem, Let the Sheep Flee, The Secret Line, A Man of Destiny, Useless, and The Final Act are the episodes.

The US’ 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, was shot in the head on 14th April 1865, while he was watching the play Our American Cousin at Washington DC’s Ford’s Theatre. John Wilkes Booth is the assassin. The next day, he died in the Petersen House. After Lincoln’s death, Edwin Stanton, his friend cum war secretary, started a manhunt to track down John Wilkes Booth. At the end of the 12th day, John Wilkes Booth was killed. Powell, Atzerodt, Herold, and Mary Surratt, who were also a part of this conspiracy, were hanged.

Monica Beletsky created the series. Monica Beletsky, Matt Johnson, Ben H. Winters, Tim Brittain, Matthew Fennell, and Jan Oxenberg scripted the screenplay. Carl Franklin, John Dahl, and Eva Sørhaug directed the series. Danielle Ponder composed the opening theme. Bryce Dessner scored the BGM. Monica Beletsky, Layne Eskridge, Kate Barry, James L. Swanson, Michael Rotenberg, Richard Abate, Frank Smith, Naia Cucukov, and Carl Franklin are the executive producers.

Tobias Menzies plays Edwin Stanton, Anthony Boyle plays John Wilkes Booth, and Hamish Linklater plays Abraham Lincoln.
