DAMBATHYA GEETHANGAL is a television serial about a typical family of three a father, mother and a daughter. The store mainly revolves around the daughter and the difficulties faced by the family because of her actions and the steps the family takes to come out of it. The daughter named Amu is the one and only loving daughter to her parents. Their life revolves around her. Their day starts and ends with her. Amu falls in love with a man against her parent’s wishes. Amu does not heed to her parent’s pleads and falls head over heels for her man. The lover of Amu named Narendran is a cheat and hides the fact that he is already married and has a child from his marriage. Amu’s parent’s fear comes true once they find out about the true nature of Narendran. How Amu solves all the issues, convinces her angry parents and comes out victorious is the plot of the serial.

The serial was aired on Asianet TV from June 2004 to January 2005. Due to its usual and common approach to family drama and emotions the series did not have as long a run it would have wished for. Although this TV show had its very own core group of audiences who loved stereotypical family drama.
