This show is the namesake of the famous song “Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga” by
Lata Mangeshkar
and Mohammad Rafi. Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga aired on Sahara One for the first time on 27 February 2012. It ended on 18 October 2013 after giving out 425 episodes.
The story is based on the concept of “ghar Jamai” or live-in son-in Law.

) and her husband to-be
Akash Sharma

).
The plot revolves around the Raichand family that has a unique tradition of making their sons in laws move in with them, rather than taking the bride away. The head of the family Kalyani Devi Raichand (
Sudha Chandran
) who has 3 daughters and has already got two of them married to men who moved on with her family.
The story takes a turn when Aangana, the youngest daughter decides to marry Akash, a not so rich boy who finds it difficult and against his pride to accept the terms of Raichand family. Finally he agrees and pleases Kalyani Devi and everything falls into place.
After this, suddenly Akash dies, leaving everyone shell-shocked. In order to help her family’s status, Kalyani Devi marries Aangana of to a widower in the chauhan family named Saumya (Aamir Ali). She gets another shock when she realizes that she is pregnant with Akash’s baby and the story takes a lot of twists and turns from here on.
