Sangeetha Rajendran is a Malayalam actress known primarily for the Malayalam flick Oomakkuyil Paadumbol. Besides featuring in movies, she has also been a part of several television series. Oomakkuyil Paadumbol, a Malayalam flick released in 2012, was scripted and helmed by Siddique Cheenamangalloor. The film is about children and features Akash Roshan, Malavika Nair, Sangeetha Rajendran, and Shankar in prominent roles. The story centers around a schoolgirl who is fond of Malayalam and poetry. However, her parents get her admitted to an English medium school, which upsets her immensely. In the movie, Sangeetha portrays the role of Zeenath, the young girl’s (Reema) mother. The movie was a hit and bagged several awards like Kerala State Film Awards and Kerala Film Critics Awards for Best Child Artist, Best Debutant Director, Best Playback Singer, among others.

Harsha Nair is a renowned TV actress who was born and brought up in Trivandrum, Kerala. Harsha had played in Malayalam and Tamil TV Serials. In 2004, Harsha played in Kadamattathu Kathanar, a serial telecasted on Asianet. The serial directed by TS Saji has Harsha sharing the screen space with Prakash Paul, “Sukanya,” Poornima Anand, Suvarna Mathew, and Anila Sreekumar. In 2006, Harsha Nair played in the devotional series Swamy Ayyapan directed by Suresh Unnithan, Kannan Thamarakkulam, and Thulasidas. Sukanya is an actress, music composer, singer, Bharatnatyam dancer, and voice actor in South India. She has acted in all the South Indian industries: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her debut movie was in Tamil cinema with 1991’s Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu. Her other Tamil films include Thirumathi Palanisamy, Thambi Pondatti, Senthamizh Paattu, Ilavarasan, and Solaiyamma. She has also acted in 1993’s Thalattu, 1994’s Mahanadi, 1996’s Puthiya Parasakthi, and 1997’s Thambi Durai. Fathima Babu is a popular Newsreader cum actress, who was born in the year 1968 in Puducherry. She is born in a Malayali family but is well versed in Tamil. Fathima started her career as a newsreader in Doordarshan and then, Jaya TV. She had played in a lot of films and TV Series in Tamil and Malayalam. She had also played in a Telugu film, “Kathanayakudu” in a character role. Her first TV Series was Chithira Paavai, which got telecasted in Doordarshan, where she played alongside, Vaishnavi, the popular Tamil character artist. Ramya is a Kannada actress, born in the district of Coorg, Karnataka. She did her schooling in the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai. She completed her graduation from Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore and acquired the degree in the course of Travel and Tourism. Before pursuing acting, she started off her career in BPO in Navi Mumbai for a year as a customer service executive. In 2010, along with her acting career; she was pursuing her MBA course from Sikkim Manipal University. According to her, Ramya did never think of taking the profession of acting as a career. It was her friends who motivated her to accept the industry offers. Then, she was chosen to be the second heroine of her first movie ‘Hani Hani’ which came in 2008. Her debut movie was a Tamil hit film Uthiripookkal at the age of 2, in 1979. She is currently acting in television and soap operas. This incredible actress born to a Muslim father and a Hindu mother was married to the famous Kannada actor Tiger Prabhakar, which sadly ended in a divorce. They have a son named Arjun. 

With the death of Aranmula Ponnamma at the ripe old age of 96, Malayalam cinema literally lost a “mother figure”. For none else had ever enacted so many motherly roles in her film career as did Ponnamma, and it may also be a record for world cinema. In fact, she had enacted the roles of screen mother for artistes who were several years senior to her, including the famous Prem Nazir, with the star once commenting that he may have addressed her as mother so many times more than he would have done for his real mother. Tragically, in her real life, she could not perform her role of mother as she would have liked it, since her daughter and son had both met with very untimely deaths. As she had also lost her husband subsequently, she had to spend her last days with her grand children and great grand children.

Zeenath is an Indian  actress in Malayalam movies and television serials. She has done supporting roles and character roles in many Malayalam movies without any career breaks since 1991.She has bagged the Kerala state film and television awards twice in her career, former as best dubbing artist and later as best actress.

Zeenath was born in 1962 at Nilambur, Malappuram district in a mediocre Muslim family. She has six siblings. She was one of the early few Muslim actresses in Malayalam cinema, inspired by yesteryear actress Nilambur Ayisha’s success in the industry. Her acting career in Malayalam films started in 1978 with a small role in the movie Chuvanna Vithukal, a socio-political film by P.A Backer, alongside Nilambur Balan, Nilambur Ayisha and Santhakumari. She has done supporting roles in handful of movies in 1980s. Since 1991 she has become an indispensable part of Malayalam movies as character artists. She has left no stone unturned in choosing character roles in Malayalam movies and her versatility as an actor was evident in the spectrum of roles she has done, such as a bold woman Kadappuram Karthyayani in the movie Godfather ( 1991), as loving mother in  Meenathil thalikettu (1998) and as a society lady in Mr. Butler (2000). She has not restricted herself to any type roles which helped her in having such a long, break-free acting career as supporting actress in Malayalam movies. She has done over hundred movies with almost all leading directors in the field and also shared screen with all the superstars and leading actors. Zeenath has acted in many professional dramas early in her career and has won the best actress award in Muslim Education Trust drama competition. She has also acted in some television serials, first beings a telefilm in Doordarshan named Poovan Pazham, alongside Nedumudi Venu, based on the famous short story of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, for which she won the Best Actress Award at Kerala State television awards 1991. Recently, she has acted in A M Nazeer’s popular soap Parinayam and Shiju Aroor’s Bhagyadevatha in Mazhavil Manorama. She has also dubbed for Actress Swetha Menon in director P.T Kunju Muhammed’s  Paradesi in 2007, for which she won the Kerala State Best Dubbing Artist Award 2007. 

In personal life, Zeenath was married first to Malayalam drama director K.T Muhammed in 1977 and got divorced in 2007. She has a son Jithin in that relation. She later married Mr. Anil Kumar and the couple has a son, Nithin Anil. Zeenath lives with family in Kochi.

Urmila Unni is a classical dancer and actress who appears in Malayalam movies, having acted in several Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi movies.

Born into royalty as the daughter of K. C. Anujanraja and Manorama, she was born Swathi Thiunal Urmila Raja. Urmila is an accomplished dancer. She completed her education from the Infant Jesus Convent in Thrissur, and her higher education from Sree Keralavarma College, again in Thrissur. She studied the Veena for 7 years, under the renowned Thrissur Venkidachala Bhagavathar. She also learnt the classical dance arts from renowned teachers, Bharatha Natyam from Thrissur Natana Nikethanam and Mohiniattam from the famous Thrissur Janardhan Master. She has performed in over 500 shows, both in India, and abroad. Her love for dance and her desire to spread its knowledge has led to her beginning a dance institution named Mudra at Thrissur, that she has successfully run for over 10 years now. Her desire to educate the masses also led her to serve as a Malayalam teacher for 5 years at the Surakshita School in Thrissur.

Her acting career has spanned over 25 years and features movies including her debut Marattam which won several awards in 5 International Film Festivals, apart from movies including Sargam, Kathapurushan, and Irattakuttikalude Achan; from Panchaloham, to Susanna, from  Mazha, Aparichathan, to Pauran parayam, and Bharathchandran I.P.S, etc.

She has also showed an interest in collecting antique, rare materials especially ornaments and is also well known for her designs that she makes of ornaments, garments and idols etc. Her love for literature has also led her to publish a book on poetry called ”Panchalika” in 1994, and a book called ”Cinimayude Katha Cinimaktha” in 1995 which provided a description on the technical aspects of Cinema, and is now used as a reference text book at the M.G University.

Sukumari was a legendary South Indian actress who was active in the industry for more than 50 years. She has acted in close to 3000 movies and several serials. Sukumari was facilitated with Padma Shri for her great contributions. She was married to late Dr.Bhim Singh and they have a son named Suresh. Suresh has also acted in a few films and is a doctor by profession. Sukumari passed away in the year 2013. Her death was a huge loss to the industry.

Sukumari was born in the year 1940 as the daughter of Madavan Nair and Satyabama Amma at Tamil Nadu. She started her dance training at a very young age and travelled all over India with her dance shows. Her debut movie was Oru Irav in Tamil. The journey which started with 1960 continued till 2013. She has donned a variety of roles over the years. Her acting career was spread across many languages like Malayalam, Simhala, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. She has been an integral part of many stage programs, humorous skits, chat shows and reality shows. Sukumari had also conducted many independent music concerts. She has donned significant roles in a variety of Malayalam and Tamil television serials. Her powerful character in the serial Swarnamayooram is unforgettable. Swarnamayooram is a mega serial which was telecasted on Asianet television channel. Swarnamayooram mainly focused on the story of two ladies Seetalakshmi and Krishnaveni and their relationship with each other. Krishnaveni and Seetalakshmi shared a very close friendship. Sreelatha Namboothiri is a veteran South Indian actress, famous for her roles in Malayalam movies and television serials. This multi-talented artist started her career as a playback singer for amateur and professional stage plays. Sreelatha’s debut Malayalam movie was Khadeeja which was released in the year 1967. She was a sought after comedian in the Malayalam film industry and was paired with the famous comedian Adoor Bhasi in many movies. Sreelatha’s real name is Vasantha. Her parents, Balakrisnan Nair and Kamala Amma, were government servants. Sreelatha’s mother was a music teacher who passed on the talent and knowledge to her daughter. Sreelatha has given many stage concerts as well. Her connection with the world of cinema was through an aunt, Kumari Tankam. Reshmi Soman is a famous Malayalam film and television actress. P. T. Kunju Muhammed spotted her in a dance event, and after that, she was introduced in the Malayalam film, Magrib in the year 1993, while she was still in Class VI. After that, she started doing notable roles in films like Ishtamanu Nooru Vattam in 1996, Varnapakittu in 1997, and Ennu Swantham Janakikutty in 1998. Later on, she went on doing television serials. She was featured in Doordarshan’s TV series entitled Hari. Popular actor Madhu saw her in Varnapakittu and offered her a role in Hari. Maria Margaret Sharmilee, aka Meenakshi, was born on 17 February 1985 in Kozhencherry, Pathanamthitta district in Kerala.

Manka Mahesh is a famous Malayalam serial and cinema actress. She is stereotyped for playing mother roles. She is noted for the frustrated outbursts of her characters. She debuted in Sasi Shankar’s 1997 film Manthramothiram (Holy Ring) but her first prominent role was in the 1998 mega hit Punjabi House. Playing the role of Unnikrishan’s (Dileep) mother, she played the first of many motherly roles in her career. Lalithasree is a yesteryear Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She acted mainly in supporting roles. Malayalam-Tamil actress Madhuri is her younger sister.

Lalitha Sree was born as Subhadra at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She has acted almost 460 cinemas in all south Indian languages. Lalithasree acted as Kamal Haasan’s heroine in his supposedly first movie Unarchigal in Tamil, but the film was not released due to technical issues. She was active in this industry during 1984-1989. She began her film journey in the 70’s in the movie Chillu directed by Lenin Rajendran. Such is the impact that he generated with his presence in the movie (Kireedom). However, the decade between 1988 and 2013 marks the peak of Mohan raj’ acting career, deeply enriching the unique character persona and presence in the film industry and in the mind of film lovers. He played the intense villain roles that portrayed the deep conflicts of and within villains or criminals that the society was mired in. 

After Kireedom’s success he played many villain role with Mohan Lal and acted over 180 films in all south Indian languages. Since he has been very choosy and selective in roles, he was never on a signing spree at all. With achieving success mostly in villain characters, the actor had settled in Madurai with his wife and two daughters. He had taken break from movies. Mohan Raj, who was on leave from the service for years (for his busy film schedule), in the year 2014, he rejoined duty after some legal wrangles and was posted as the Assistant Commissioner in the Enforcement department. He appeared as driver Jose in film Chirakodinja Kinavukal (2015) and has a few more projects in his hand.

Maniyanpilla Raju act is a South- Indian film actor who mainly acted in Malayalam movies. He was born as Sudheer Kumar and penned his name to Maniyanpilla Raju after his movie, Maniyanpilla Adhava Maniyanpilla in which he had played the character with the same name. He debuted with the movie Mohiniyattam, which was directed by Sreekumaran Thampi.

Chembil Ashokan, born on 29th November 1960, is an Indian film actor, popular amongst the viewers for his work in films like Life of Josutty (2015), Money Ratnam (2014), Vellimoonga (2014), and Kadha Thudarunnu (2010). One of the most versatile supporting actors in the Malayali industry, this veteran actor has more than 50 credits to his name, the earliest of which is Sathyan Anthikad’s comedy movie Bhagyadevatha (2009), also starring Jayaram and Kaniha. The most recent of his works include films like Aanakkallan, Nalla Vishesham, Prakashante Metro and Arun Bose’s romantic thriller film Luca (2019), also starring Tovino Thomas, Srikant Murali, and Shalu Rahim. 

Kollam Tulasi whose real name is K.K. Tulasidharan Nair was born on May 29, 1949. Kerala Film Critics presented him the best supporting actor award for the movie Lelam in 2006, and he was given the Best Serial Actor award in 2008 for the serial Kadamattathu Kathanar. Kollam Tulasi has played excellent characters in both Cinema and Serial Industry. He began acting in stage plays while in school itself. In college, he won the best actor award several times. Later, he went on to become a Government Servant but did not stop acting. His first film was Aambalpoovu, directed by Harikumar in 1979. He has played the roles of Minister and M.L.A in almost 85 movies and has mostly portrayed villainous characters in cinema and serials. His popular movies would include Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, The King, Commissioner, Lelam, Godfather, etc. He did many programmes (more than 300 radio dramas) for All India Radio, acted in more than 200 films, and almost same number of tele serials. The actor is also a writer and a poet having published several of his works. He is also a renowned social worker and is the regional Chairman of Health Oriented Programmes Establishment based in Kannur, Kerala. He is married to Vijaya Devi and has a daughter Gayathri.

Venu Nagavally was one of the most prominent Writers’, Directors’ and actors’ that the Malayalam Cinema industry had seen. Venu had acted in nearly 50 films, and directed hits including Lal Salam, Sukhamo Devi, Sarvakalashal and Aye Auto.

Born in Ramankary, Thiru-Kochi on the 16th of April, 1949 to parents Nagavally R.S Kurup, and Rajamma, Venu was introduced to literary works early in his childhood through his father, a noted play writer. He completed his education from the Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Trivandrum. He then pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Politics, with a Diploma in Journalism from the University College, Trivandrum.

He began his career as a Radio Announcer for Aakasavani, followed by a musical debut for the movie Chottanikkara Amma. However, he gained prominence only after his role in the movie Ulkkadal, which boosted his career. Among his noted movies are Pakshe, Shalini Ente Koottukari, Meenamasathile Sooryan, and Chillu.

His directorial debut was Sukhamo Devi (1986), oft described by himself as his own tragic love story. His directorial skills were soon put to good use, with the production of super hits including Lal Salam, Aayirappara, Rakthasaakshikal, Aey Auto, and Zindabad among others. Some of his movies revolved around the lives of the early communist leaders in Kerala, and the others, including Sarvakalashala, Aey Auto and Sukhamo Devi catapulted Mohanlal to the superstar status. His debut as a script writer began with Ee Ganam Marakkumo.

While most of his style was that of a practical approach, there was a strain of leanings to the left, with movies like Lal Salam, where he provided an introspective look into the communist party, its rise and fall, with perspective being obtained by observing and dealing with them; the cracks in political movements, its hopes, and its subsequent degeneration created by it in human relationship.

He also sang for different movies, with popular songs rendered for movies such as Ente Ammu, Ninte Thulasi, Chillu, Oru Painkilikatha, Avarude Chakki.

Venu Nagavally died on the 9th of September 2010, at Thriuvananthapuram, and is survived by his wife Meera, and son Vivek.

V.K. Baiju is a well known Malayalam actor in the Malayalam industry. He has acted in several Malayalam serials and films and has got a good place in the industry. V.K. Four years after divorce, Sreenath married Latha in 1999 and this couple has a son Viswajith. Sreenath started to act in the TV serials, though he got chances in films too. He was also awarded as the best TV actor for two times. His last serial was Maharani, the Tamil serial, which was aired on Vijay TV. Maharani was aired from 2009-2011. Sreenath acted as Devaraj, the husband of Yamuna and the lover of Sandhya Madam. Yamuna role is played by Sulakshana and Sandhya Madam is played by the multi-talented Malayalam actress Praveena. While acting in the serial, he committed suicide and his role was given to Murali Mohan. The reason for his death is not yet concluded. The film and the television industry have lost a good actor.

Son of the late actor Thilakan, Shammi Thilakan is one of the more versatile actors in the Malayalam movie industry having nearly 30 years of experience as an actor, and as a dubbing artist. He is the recipient of the State Award for Best Dubbing Artist for lending his voice to Nassar in the movie Gazal  in 1993. He also lent his voice for Napoleon in the movie Devasuram.

Shammi Thilakan began his career in 1986, having to work under the shadow of his immensely talented father Thilakan. However, through his quality work and his extremely professional attitude, he has made a name as prominent as his father in the movie industry. His debut was in the 1986 movie directed by K.G. George, Irakal where he performed a supporting role. His acting and skill soon got him noticed and he then began to see a wide variety of roles being offered.

From Jathakam in 1989 to Ottayal Pattalam in 1992, to Thalastaanam and Dhruvam, and Rajakeeyam to Boxer, Sargavasantham, Kaathil Oru Kinnaram to Sulthan Hyderali, Lelam and Bhoopathi Ezhupunna Tharakan & Pathram, Shammi has had over 20 hits in the 1990’s.

Saju Kodiyan is a famous comedy actor in Malayalam television and film industry. He started his acting career through dramas and stage shows and now is a very popular actor in Malayalam film industry. Saju started with acting in dramas and through one of his drama “Swathanthrintynte Sangaganam” by Sangeetha Nadaka academy, he entered into the mimcry field. The drama was a political one and the chief minister E K Nayanar at that time gave the troop permission to perform that drama throughout different stages in Kerala. During their travelling from one stage to another Saju tried to make everyone happy by imitating sounds. At first he didn’t imitated the sounds of actors and one of his friends suggested him to mimcry field, later he tried and successfully rendered all of them.

Saju Kodiyan is famous for his Aminathatha role in Harisree’s micmicry shows.Aminathatha is female Muslim role and he acted it beautifully.Saju got Aminathatha role by chance and his sound blended perfectly with the character. Saju did a lot of stages inside and outside India and is famous for his Aminathatha. Saju imitated the earlier prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and it was a super hit. All audience wants Saju to perform Aminathatha and Vajpayee again and again .He also imitated Usha Uthup and Saju still remembers the experience with Usha didi. During one of their stage shows in Germany Saju dressed up like Usha didi and  she suddenly met him who dressed up like her. She then told him that the makeup was not correct and she herself gave her bindi, ornaments to Saju and set him as a real Usha uthup.

Actor Nadir shah gave him a break through mimicry field and later Saju started doing shows like Cinemala in Asianet and it is a show that is on the Guinness book of records. Raghavan is a Malayalam film actor who is now doing TV serials. He was born in Kozhikode and did his schooling in Kozhikode itself. In his schooldays, he was interested in acting and performed numerous dramas. He acted in a number of dramas in Kerala as well as outside of Kerala, such as Coorg, Mangalapuram, etc. Later, he joined the Tagore Drama troop and did his Diploma in Delhi National School of Drama. He started his career as an assistant to the famous director, G. V. Ayer. He directed a Kannada movie called, “Oruka Mahasabha.” His first Malayalam film was “Kayalkaryil” in 1968.

Raveendran Nair is known among the Malayalam viewers as Poojappura Ravi, a popular theater artist and comedy actor. He was part of the Kalanilayam Drama Vision, a famous drama Troupe. He had staged in Raktharakshasu, a horror drama which had been the most ever hit of the drama troupe. He entered into the film industry in mid-70’s, in black and white movies. He has surpassed more than 4000 dramas and 800 movies in Malayalam.  He is born to Madhavan Pilla and Bhavaniyamma, as eldest of four children, at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. He realized his passion towards acting, also a way of earning his living during his school days. His performance was for a drama for the All India Radio when he was 12 years old, and his earning was a packet of chocolates. 

He debuted in director Hariharan’s Ambiliammavan, as Saami a full length character which was a very big hit. He acted mainly in comedy roles and also in character roles in most of the movies. He started receiving serious characters in his later years. Some of his notable movies are Nanni Veendum Varika as Mathachan, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu as Doctor, Kadathanadan Ambadi, and as a lawyer in Manjadikkuru. He has also done many serials both comedy and serious characters from 1990’s.  He has acted with most of the prominent actors old and new and considers himself to be lucky. 

He is married to Thankamma and the couple has two children, a daughter Lakshmi and a son Hari Kumar and has two grandchildren. He is now settled in Trivandrum and still busy in movies and serials.

Poojappura Radhakrishnan is a Malayalam serial and cinema actor. He hails from the Poojappura district of the capital Trivandrum. Interested in acting from a young age, he first participated in acting troupes before his debut on the silver screen.

Kaiyum Thlayum Purathidaruthe was released in 1985. His next film was Desatanakkili  Karayarilla (Migratory Birds Don’t Cry). Costarring Mohanlal, the film was critically acclaimed. One of the first films to deal with “womance” or feminine friendships, the plot follows the lives of two schoolgirls who run away during a class trip. Radhakrishan’s character plays a pivotal role. Also released in the same year was Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal and Yuvajanotsavam.

In 1988, he acted with superstar Mammootty in the thriller August 1. The Sibi Malayil directed film was a huge hit and Mammootty has expressed a desire to act in a sequel. Kandathum Kettathum was also released that year. 

He played a security guard in the 1989 film Chanakya, which also starred Kamal Haasan, Urmila Matondkar and Thilakan. In Balachandran Menon’s Samaantharangal, he played Vasu. Radhakrishnan had a minor role as a hotel boy in Jagratha. Manthrikumaran (Minister Kumaran) was also released the same year. 

His next collaboration with Balachandran Menon was in the Srinivasan starring film Krishna Gopalakrishna. 

Radhakrishan has acted in several Malayalam serials such as Sthree Oru Santhwanam (directed by Baby Pallisery) and Madhavam (directed by Saji Surendran).

Radhakrishnan was a friend of the late actress Srividya and had accompanied her for her first checkup for breast cancer. He was deeply saddened by her death in 2006. 

In Pakal Nakshatrangal (Morning Stars) he played T.P. Thodupuzha, an intellectual. The film deals with the life of Malayali intellectuals in the 1990s.

In 2012, he acted in the film adaptation of poet O.N.V. Kurup’s Kunjedathi. Directed by Prasad Nooranad, the Sreelakshmi Creations production also starred Mavelikkara Ramachandran and Girija. Radhakrishnan had a minor role as a house owner in the political drama Left Right Left.

Poojappura Radhakrishnan was a friend of the late director Padmarajan. It was only because Radhakrishan told T.K. Rajeev of the late director’s unspoken desire to offer his scripts to him that the later was able to obtain access to Padmarajan’s stories, culminating in the release of Rathinirvedam.

In 2014 he costarred with K.B. Ganesh Kumar in Santhosh Souparnika’s Mizhi Thurakku. Set in the backdrop of the 1921 Malabar Mapilla rebellion, Poojappura plays a Hindu villager.

Poojappura Radhakrishnan is a recipient of AMMA’s (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) “Kaineetam” scheme and receives Rs. 5000 per month. The scheme aims to provide financial support to erstwhile stars of Mollywood.

Manu Varma is a supporting actor in Malayalam cinema who made his acting debut in a Malayalam movie ‘Neelagiri’ that released in 1993. In this movie, he played the role of Arun which was directed by famous filmmaker I.V. Sasi. Manu was a discovery of I.V. Sasi and in this movie, he shared screen presence with Malayalam stalwarts like Mammootty, Sunitha, and Madhoo.

Kishore Satya, born on 20th May is better known for his stage shows and television serials. He is a recognized face in the Malayalam television and Cinema Industry. He entered the television industry in 2001 as a VJ presenting Alukkas Fairy Tale on ‘Vyaparangalude Mahotsavam,’ displaying Dubai Shopping Festival on Kairali TV. He began his journey as an actor in ‘Youth Festival’, his debut film released in 2004, in which he presented a negative role. In 2005, he acted in the mega serial Manthrakodi directed by A.M. Nazeer. The serial was telecasted on Asianet for more than a year, winning the hearts of Malayali television audience. K.N. Jagannatha Varma popularly known as Jagannatha Varma has played multi-faceted roles in his real life and reel life. He was born on 1 May 1939. In real life, he is an actor, police officer, kathakali artist and recently at the age of 74, he gave his first performance playing the musical instrument Chenda, fulfilling his lifelong ambition. In reel life, he is famous for his roles as a police officer, politician, judge, and as a priest. He started learning Kathakali at the age of 11 from Pallipuram Gopalan Nair Asan.  In 1963, he joined the Kerala police after which he couldn’t continue with the art form Kathakali, only to reenter the scene in 1990, and then in 2005. He retired from the Police force as the Superintendent of Police (S.P).

Actor Jagannathan (1938-2012) was born in Changanassery, Kerala. He was a well-known Malayalam Cinema and Serial actor. He won his first Kerala State Award as the Second Best Actor for his theatre work Aaayiram Katham Akale. He won Kerala State’s Best Actor in the Supporting Role Award for his performance in Draupadi and School Days in 1999. He started his acting career as a theatre artist. He became a part of Kavalam Narayana Panicker’s theatre troupe Thiruvarangu. He is famous for portraying his character ‘aatapandaram,’in Kavalam’s theatre play Avanavan Katamba, along with Nedumudi Venu. He was a singer as well as an acclaimed ballet artist. He began his cinema life in Oridathu in 1986, directed by the noted director Aravindan. He then went on to act in more than 179 movies, along with his theatrical roles. He has directed four dramas namely Pathanam, Parivarthanam, Vivahalochana and Karadi. He has acted in many tele serials, with Kairalivilasam Lodge (aired on Doordarshan) being his most applauded serial work. Ibrahim Kutty is a famous actor from Kerala, and he is the brother of Mammootty, the mega star of Malayalam cinema. Ibrahim’s son, Makbul Rahman, is also stepping into Mollywood, following his uncle, cousin, and father. Makbul’s first movie was, “Asura Vittu”, and Ibrahim also has a daughter named Asha. G. Keshava Pillai known as G K Pillai is a celebrated actor who has been in the industry for close to 60 years. The troop operated until 1980 with total nine plays conducted across the state.

Kalasala Babu's role as Rowdy Dasappan in TV serial 'Kala' which was aired as 13-episode was a big HIT. This success on mini screen gave him many chances on acting other mega serials on TV. Babu acted around 28 serials within next three years mainly for Doordarshan. Most of the roles for Babu in plays were negative roles. But in recent years, he also acted in comic roles as well as in elderly roles in various movies and serials. One of the most famous role Babu acted in recent time is the role of Sage Viswamithran in Ramayanam telecasted by Mazhavil Manorama. He is currently acting in the TV Serial 'Ival Yamuna' airing by Mazhavil Manorama.

Anil Murali is an Indian film actor in Malayalam cinema. He has completed over 100 films in Malayalam. He started out in the film industry as a villain before taking on character roles. 

Anil Murali began his acting career as a positive character  in director Vinayan’s film Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha  in 1993. He acted in Lenin Rajendran's off beat movie Daivathinte Vikrithikal in 1994. He acted in Mammootty film Stalin Sivadas in 1999. It was Valkkannadi by Anil Babu in 2002 which gave him a real villain role. He was an integral part of Malayalam movies since 2002. He is continuing his journey doing some of the best villain characters in Malayalam films. His villain role Nenja Hakkim in Ivar (2003), as Raghu in Kayam (2010),  and Podiyadi Soman in City of God (2011) were appreciated very well. He also did many character roles in some of the recent hit movies like as S K in Manikyakallu in 2011 and as Davis in Amen in 2013. He is also part of many of the recent Malayalam movies like At Andheri , Double Barrel, Dollphin Bar, Polytechnic etc.

Recently in 2013 Anil Murali has made his debut in Tamil movies through V Z Durai's crime thriller 6 Melugu Vathigal. Anil is playing an interesting villain Diwakar, who is a bit feminine in his mannerism, oppossite Shaam and Poonam Kaur. Anil has also played an important role of Anil Menon in bilingual Tamil movie Nimirndhu Nil (Janda Pai Kapiraju in Telugu) starring Jayam Ravi in Tamil and Nani in Telugu. The Telugu version has Amala Paul in the lead role.

Anil is married to Suma who is working in Bharath Matrimonial. They have a son, Adithya and a daughter, Arundathi. Anil and family live in Edappally, Cochin.

Anil had also played important roles in the hit films, Avatharam, 100 Degree Celsius, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Ramaleela, Aakashamittayee, Shadow, Joseph, Uyare, Brother's Day, Moonam Pralayam, Forensic and Professor Dinkan. He had also played in the super hit Tamil movies, Thani Oruvan, “Kanithan,” “Appa,” “Kodi,” Enga Amma Rani, “Thondan,” Nagesh Thiraiyarangam, Mr Local, Jiivi, “Nadodigal 2” and his last film “Walter” that released in 2020. Anil had been suffering from liver ailments. He had been getting the treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. His body could not recuperate to the medications and the 56-year-old actor had his last breath on 30^th July 2020.

Aneesh Ravi is a Malayalam Television actor, anchor, theater artist and stage performer, who was born in Chirayinkeezhu, Kerala. He was also a theater artist and performed in “Natakayogam”, which is an old theater troupe in Trivandrum. His famous drama performance was in, “ Choonda”, which was a one-man play. His debut serial was, “ Snehatheeram” directed by Sajan and telecasted on Doordarshan. However, his real breakthrough was through the serial, “Mohanam”. He played roles in, “ Minnukettu”, which was telecasted on Surya TV, “Manasariyathe”, which was telecasted on Surya TV, and “Sthree”, telecasted on Asianet.

Kumarakom Raghunath was once known as the superstar of Malayalam Television Industry. In 2014, Atlas Film Critics Award for television programmes awarded him the Best Actor title for playing his role in Penmanasu, a serial telecasted on Surya TV. He began his acting career as an amateur drama artist at the age of 15. By seeing his performance in the drama titled Acharya, the director of the drama, N.N. Pillai insisted him to join in his drama troupe. For the next 18 years, Kumarakom Raghunath was molded into a fine drama artist. Meanwhile, he even formed his own drama troupe named Keli. Later when serials started getting popular on Doordarshan, he began acting in the lead roles in tele serials. His first serial was with the famous director Shaji Yem. He found himself portraying versatile characters in television. Scooter was one such hit serial of his on Doordarshan. He became very popular among the television audience in the 90’s. In fact, he was called the Mammootty (Mega star of Malayalam film industry) of Tele serials. His movies include Mayaponman, Nakshatratarattu and F.I.R. Later, he took a break from acting for about six years. He came back to the Television serial industry in 2011 acting in Ammakili with movie actress Seema. He is also a part of the Serial Amma as Vidyasagar, telecasted on Asianet.

Krishna Kumar also popularly known as KK Kichu is an actor who works in Malayalam and Tamil movies and serials. Krishna Kumar is mainly known for playing supporting roles in Malayalam and Tamil films as well as in few selected TV serials. Krishna Kumar was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India to Gopala Krishnan Nair. Krishna Kumar started his career as a news reader in the Kerala TV and later shifted his career to acting which has always been his hidden passion. He made his debut of his acting career in the year 1994 with the Malayalam film Kashmeeram. Then he went on to act in many Malayalam movies and TV serials. After some time, when the offers from Malayalam movies and serials started drying down, Krishna Kumar tried his luck in the Tamil movie Industry where he managed to get some good role as supporting actor in Tamil movies like Billa II, Deivathirumagal, mugamoodi, etc. He side by side continued to act in Malayalam movies. Krishna Kumar married Sindhu on December 12, 1994 and had 4 daughters, Ahaana, Ishaani, Diya and Hansika. His elder daughter is all set to venture in the Malayalam movies with Rajeev Ravi’s forthcoming movie with another newbie Farhan Fazil, who is also a star kid.
 

Shanavas is an actor who mostly acts in Malayalam movies and had also worked in few Tamil movies. Actor Shanavas has acted in over 50 Malayalam films. Shanavas is the son of famous and legendary Malayalam film actor Prem Nazir. Shanavas was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India to legendary actor Prem Nazir and Habeeba Biwi. He has three elder sisters. Shanavas did his schooling from Yercaud and completed his Master’s degree from The New College, Chennai. Shanavas made his debut in the year 1981 with the Malayalam film Premageethangal. This movie was moderately successful. Though after this film, Shanavas went on to star in a number of Tamil and Malayalam films, but he was unable to create magic among the audiences and failed to repeat or achieve the success of that of his father Legendary actor of the Malayalam films actor Prem Nazir. Some of the Malayalam and Tamil films in which actor Shanavas acted are-Gaanam, Ye Yugam, Orikkal Oridathu, Aazhi, Nammal Thammil, Kanyakumari Express, China Town, Veeraputhran, Neelagiri and many more. He also judged a reality show on Asianet and Sun TV. After trying his luck in the Malayalam films he decided to switch his career and turned full time business person. Presently, Shanavas is settled in Malaysia with his wife and two sons. Shanavas nowadays does few occasional films and made a comeback with the 2013 Malayalam film Zachariyayude Garbhinikal which was well received by the audiences and at the box office. Elder son of Shanavas also tried his luck in the Malayalam movies but was not successful. His younger son works in Australia. Shanavas also featured in a TV serial named Shankupushpam.
 

Madhu is an ace, noted and prominent lead actor of the 60’s and 70’s of the Malayalam movies. He is an actor, director and producer of the malayalam film industry.
