She hails from Kollam, where she completed her studies. Her parents, Sethulakshmi and Arjunan, were drama artists in leading drama troupes in Kerala. She has two sisters and a brother. All her siblings are also in drama and her brother Kishore owns a drama troupe called Nadakakoottam Lakshmi started performing on drama stages since her 10th standard. Laxmi’s first drama was Prathiyogi of Harisree theaters in which she acted as a vender. Initially, she played around 16-17 dramas per year. However, as she got busy in the mini-screen, she withdrew from drama stages.
