Sreeja Chandran is an Indian TV actress, who became famous after appearing as the main lead in the Tamil Drama Serial, Saravanan Meenatchi on STAR Vijay. Their family arranged their traditional marriage, but it was postponed because of the hatred that arises between the family of Saravanan and Meenakshi. The serial received five awards at the 43rd Annual Awards organized by the Mylapore Academy including Sreeja’s Best Female Actor Award. She also received the Favorite Female Actor Award in 2014’s Vijay Television Awards.

Sreeja was born on August 6, 1986 in Kerala. She was the daughter of Malayali couple Bala and Shalaija Chandran. She finished her studies at Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta District and graduated in Kerala’s Calicut University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts Major in History. She recently got married to RJ Senthil Kumar, her co-star in Saravanan Meenatchi. As a child, she was interested in dancing and learned Kathakali and Kuchipudi. She also performed on stage. Her father introduced her to acting in serials when she was 15 years old through his friend, who is a producer. Sreeja is pursuing her career in modeling right after her studies, when suddenly her fortune struck gold and acted in Saravanan Meenatchi.

Sreeja became famous for her performances in Malayalam serials and films, as well as Tamil serials. She first entered Mollywood as a child actress in the filmKathapurushan directed by Adoor Gopala Krishnan.
