Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Teaser, Trailer & Video Songs
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is the fifth volume of the Paranormal Activity series. The movie is set in 2012 and is an offshoot of the first four films. Christopher B. Landon was the director, and this feature served as a launch for his directorial career. The trailer deals with three teenage friends in the Latino community in Oxnard, California.
The three teenagers break into an old lady’s apartment, who had recently died, for fun, but end up dealing with a mysterious demon. It follows the basic story line of the other films, but with a twist. The demon is to possess the person with the mark; hence the name ‘The Marked Ones’. Unlike the other films, the possessed person ends up having powers of telekinesis. While that seems like an exciting development, it still poses consequences to the marked one.
The movie ties in the elements from the previous ones to provide a better understanding of the story’s background. It, like any other horror film, has its moments with hair-raising jump scares and a thrilling audio track. The movie offers a more in-depth story and character development than its counterpart but tries more to be an action/horror than a proper horror as the other films of the franchise. It had a mixed reception and was a disappointment for most fans. Despite its reviews, it’s still a spooky movie that offers a gripping entertainment.
