Plot
A man with a terrible past, Balachandran marries Alagini and now appears joyful and endearing. A supernatural entity by the name “The Jinn” possesses Balachandran causing him to become untrustworthy and face horrifying consequences.
Star performance
Srikanth Gurram puts on a decent performance. He shines in the emotional sequences of the film. Priyanka Sharma is a talent to be reckoned with, having an amazing screen presence. Avinash also portrays the father well, and puts forth an outstanding performance. The rest of the cast has also done a decent job.
Analysis
The film starts on an exciting note, keeping the audience engaged and mixing the elements of mythology with today’s time. The film is detailed in its manner. But the film suffers from a slow pace, despite the short runtime, a sense of lethargy comes in several sequences. The actors have done a fantastic job. The film in the second half is more downward but only engages the audience in the last sequences. That is where the film picks up the pace. The editing is also an issue here the film has problematic sequences that would ruffle people. The cinematography is beautiful, and the film is visually stunning. The music also helps in elevating the story. It feels like the first chapter was just to establish characters and more would be followed in the second part but to make the audience interested in the second part you need to make a solid impression in the first film. Tantiram: Chapter 1 is an exciting concept with good performances but has a slow pace.
