Plot
Bootcut Balaraju is a carefree lad with no aim. All the villagers respect Patelamma, whose daughter Mahalaxmi is a childhood friend of Balaraju. However, she is not the only one attracted to Balaraju, as Siri also has feelings for him. Who will Balaraju choose? Will his love prevail?
Star Performances
The production design for this film is superb. The film has a rustic feel to it, and the camerawork is great as well.
Syed Sohel Ryan does his best to make up for the lack of an innovative plot. If only the screenplay was equally innovative.
Analysis
Does ‘Bootcut Balaraju’ offer something in terms of the story? No, it is just another tale of a wayward lad falling for a rich girl, and how he must convince her family of his worth.
So how is this film overall? Written and directed by Sree Koneti, ‘Bootcut Balaraju’ is the journey of a carefree lad, who is pursued by more than one girl. However, when he reciprocates the feelings towards his childhood love, he finds that it is not so easy to bring the story to a conclusion. What shall he do next?
Syed Sohel Ryan in the titular exudes the innocence and the charm needed for the role. He is ably supported by Meghalekha, who is the lead protagonist, Mahalaxmi. The supporting cast has been equally good in their respective parts, Indraja, Sunil, etc. being the standout performers.
However, if you want some crisp family entertainment, this film may not exactly be the right one. Writer cum director Sree Koneti takes a bit long in building up the narrative. Even though the humor is clean, it doesn’t necessarily make the audience laugh. By the time he realizes too much time has been wasted, the second half, as well as the climax, seems quite rushed.

Verdict
‘Bootcut Balaraju’ is a dramedy minus the natural humor. Yes, the acting performances are great, and the production values are also decent.  However, what is missing is humor.  Watch it only if you have lots of spare time! Â
