Mahesh Upputuri was born in 1st January, 1970, and is a Tollywood screenplay writer and director. He is best known for his Telegu action film Jagame Maaya (2014) starring Shiva Balaji and Gazal Somaiah as the male and female lead respectively. It was released on 8 August 2014 and got positive response from audience.

He has also worked as an assistant director in the Tamil movie Run (2004) directed by N. Lingusamy casting R. Madhavan and Meera Jasmine. His latest Telegu film Paddanandi Premalo Mari was released on 14th February 2015 where Varun Sandesh and Vithika Sheru played the leads.
