Plot
Mithra, daughter of former famous actress Mano Chitra is forced to enter the film industry. She goes to film for a few days but unable to handle the pressure, she makes a get away in her car. However, the car breaks down in a remote area, and she is lost. The story thus begins. Being found by a middle-aged man who offers to let her stay in his house for the night and to get her car serviced the next day. Mithra, who doesn’t have a lot of options, hesitantly agrees.
But the stranger later reveals that he is Deena Dayalan, one of the most illustrious film makers of the past. He also reveals that he had been in a relationship with Mithra’s mother whom he always favoured in his movies. Curious about their relationship, Mithra stays at Deena’s house for a few more days.
As time flows, Deena’s true colours are unearthed, and the plot thickens. The truth about his character and his hidden motive towards Mithra propel the rest of the film.
Star Performance
Ramanathan Bagavathi, having full knowledge of the plot displays it in his brilliant portrayal of his character. Actress, Sowra Syed does not fall behind and is at par with her co-actor and really gives life to this film.
Analysis
Vitthaiyadi Naanunakku is the brainchild of Ramanathan Bagavathi to promote his native language. He is at the apex of this movie as director, actor, and editor. Multiple funding rounds took place to give wings for the movie to fly. The film focuses only on two characters throughout, and the plot is explored to it's depth by them. There is no hero, villain, or heroine in this film. There are just two individuals who take us on the journey with plot twists at every bend. The cinematography adds a sense of foreboding to the movie, and you’ll find yourself breathless in many instances. We learn about the past, and how it plays into our present. It also shows us that people truly never let go of grievances.

The movie draws you in with its abrupt, riveting start and wanes a bit in the middle. But bypassing that, the ending will satisfy you with full knowledge of the plot. If you are a fan of thrillers, this one is in the books for you.
